In an interview with a leading portal, Debina elaborated on the process of IVF and why she chose it. Debina shared that doctors advised her to go with IUI (intrauterine insemination) initially but that didn’t work for her. She said, “The fertile days are calculated and according to it, doctors give a few injections. A semen analysis of the husband is also done. It did not work for me. I tried it 5 times. It was a failure.

She further added, “Next, the best option was IVF. The cost of embryo transfer is ₹30,000 and it also depends on the hospital. I had an IVF conception. Initially, I was scared but not anymore. When people ask ‘Why IVF transfer’, I would say when something doesn’t happen over a period of time, I can’t waste time thinking why it is not happening.

When Debina Talked About Her Tough Pregnancy Journey

In one of her Vlogs, Debina revealed that she had a tough time while trying to conceive and visited numerous doctors for the same. She was finally diagnosed with endometriosis. She said, “I visited doctors, normal gynaecologists, IVF specialists to find out what problem I had. I had endometriosis. For that to be treated, I did whatever possible treatments were available. Endometriosis is a condition wherein, the bleeding happens inside the walls of the uterus. So in that, there may cause a problem in conceiving. I needed to solve and clear this situation. For this, I took allopathic medicine. I took the root of Ayurveda. In acupuncture, a needle is inserted in the ear – it’s called the Chinese approach for fertility. It was like a routine for me. Every day morning 10 am I would go.

In the Vlog, Debina also advised women to not pay heed to disheartening things the society has to say about their “biological clocks. She said, “I want to tell all the girls, who feel the pressure to get married, and seeing people in their late 30s and 40s getting married and delivering babies – this thought is in our mind that it will happen. People cannot function under too much pressure or criticism. People may still perform under pressure but criticism hurts. Don’t let society affect you for whatever reason. Keep yourself calm and keep your goal intact in your life.

Not everyone has it easy when it comes to embracing parenthood and Debina’s journey is definitely an inspiring one. Here’s hoping her story gives strength and direction to everyone who is struggling to conceive.
