Two Strangers Got Married For A TikTok Challenge, What Happened Next Is So Wholesome!

From licking toilet seats to styling hair with gorilla glue, people do a lot of weird shi* on TikTok. But even by Tiktok standards, getting married just for social media clout sounds like a bit of a stretch. Guess what? I just found out about a couple who did exactly that!

Danielle Gross and Gunnar Michels met two years ago. It all started with a weird TikTok competition organised by Gunner where he declared that he wants to marry a “total stranger.” He asked women to send video applications and Danielle was one of the 1000 women who applied!

“This opportunity was made for me. Nothing in life has ever been that serious to me and I wanted to marry someone in some crazy, stupid way in Vegas,” Danielle shared in an Instagram reel.

After shortlisting Danielle, Gunner got on a video call with her. The two clicked and decided to get married in Vegas! Gunner went to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to propose to Danielle. Then the two drove to Vegas in Danielle’s renovated ambulance and got hitched.

Of course, they only took it as a joke and “planned to get divorced after one week of marriage”. But that was turning out to be harder than expected,” Danielle shares. So weeks turned to months and then months to years. Before they knew it, Danielle and Gunner were celebrating their second anniversary!

Danielle and Gunner are now travelling across America in their ambulance, chasing one adventure after other. “Neither of us thought it was going to last this long. I’m beyond happy that we have lasted this long,” says Danielle.

Well, if you think about it, doesn’t this sound a lot like arranged marriages in India?
