The only thing that seems to be on everyone’s mind right now is the coronavirus pandemic, as it should be. Flights have been canceled, travel plans have been postponed and weddings have been rescheduled. People are just focussing on staying home and staying indoors for the safety and health of the entire nation. Social distancing is what the entire world needs to be practicing and to some extent, that’s being done.
Meet the bride and groom, Tarini and Nikhil who had to relocate their wedding in Thailand with just 10 days in hand. With just over a week to go, the bride and her family organised a wedding in Delhi and the couple got married on the same date as was pre-decided.
“Nikhil and I initially planned a destination wedding in Rayong, Thailand, and over the course of last year, we made multiple trips to the property, met with our planners and decorators based in Thailand, went for food and cocktail tastings to finalize the menu, until we finally had a vision of our perfect beach wedding. However, the world had a different plan for not just us, but everyone, as the coronavirus started spreading rapidly in China and then in so many other countries. All our guests had confirmed tickets, but many felt apprehensive about flying, and rightly so, as the situation was so unprecedented”, says Tarini.
This pandemic did not deter Tarini and Nikhil who saw their Plan A crumbling before their eyes. Not letting the stress of the travel ban get to them, they rethought the whole day and went ahead with a Plan B. They booked MorBagh Farms in Chattarpur in New Delhi immediately and got in touch with wedding vendors and decorators.
“Miraculously, and with a lot of help and support from our families, we pulled off a wedding on the same date, in the same manner, that far exceeded our expectations of the best wedding we thought we’d host in Thailand. I cannot begin to explain how elated we were to pull something so grand at the last minute! We also decided to give our wedding a new hashtag – #6dinshaadiin. It was all possible because we were surrounded by the warmth and love of our friends and family who made the celebrations even better”, added the gorgeous bride.
A special shoutout to Nishchay Gandhi Designs for planning the wedding of their dreams and Eventfully Yours Design for decorating the place to make it look even prettier. And kudos to the team at Hitched And Clicked, you guys took some breathtaking shots and we are going gaga!
For the D-day, Tarini picked out a gorgeous mint coloured lehenga by the ace designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee. Her makeup was done by Paveena Rathour who did a fabulous job at making her look as fresh as spring! Her hair was tied up in a floral bun done up by Azad Khan and it looked beautiful too.
Alls well that ends well. Your wedding looked magical Tarini and Nikhil and it was a floral dream come true. Wishing you more love and happiness in the years to come.
