Have you noticed that Alia isn’t doing her makeup as she used to before? She is slowly shedding her signature girl-next-door image, and it’s so evident. The dewy skin is gone. The gloss is retiring. The pinks and reds are taking a backseat. There’s a lot going on and I cannot stop thinking about it.
I’ve tracked Alia’s beauty evolution over the past couple of years and you can clearly see the difference.
The Basics Of The Base Have Changed
In March 2022, Bhatt’s traditional avatar dazzled at the Indian Television Academy Awards — literally. Not only did the high points of Alia’s face gleam, but the actress’ lit-from-within glow also shone right through. Even the coverage, in terms of foundation and concealer, felt light and minimal.
Thanks to Alia, I’ve always done my skincare before doing my makeup. This one tip transforms an otherwise cakey makeup look into a dewy, airbrushed one.
Just in December, Bhatt posted this picture on Instagram. The change is noticeable, isn’t it? Her base is matte. Though the extent of the coverage is the same, there’s no dewy skin anymore. The look is clean and polished. Matte is back and Alia stans.
Her Maternal Glow Has Replaced The Highlighters
I cannot stop gushing over this picture from Diwali, 2021. Her dewy base combined with that blinding highlight, it’s a 10/10 for me. Don’t miss that subtle inner corner highlight. The details here are everything.
Cut to January 2023, and the highlighter is clearly gone. It’s almost like Alia has traded it in for some contour. But that’s a story for later. Notice how cutting the glow out of the equation makes her look a little more mature? I’m here for it!
Her Pout Puckers Up Differently Too
Alia almost always opted for light pink and peach lipstick. This picture from February 2022 is proof. Nothing says soft, barely-there glamm better than these colours. I noticed her wearing a bold red lip on some occasions though. Even gloss was quite frequent in her “before” version.
Alia now plays around with a wider range of lip colours. Browns, nudes, and purples have replaced her pinks and peaches. Most of the formulas are matte & the Cupid’s Bow highlight is missing too.
She Blushes…But It’s Not The Same
Her cheeks always had a soft, feminine glow about them and this picture explains that. I adore how rosy and flushed they are. Much of it is thanks to the cool-toned pinks and reds she opted for, over contour and bronzer. She even played around with faux pas freckles for a while.
Gone are the rosy reds and pinks. Alia’s recent looks suggest a bias for warm-toned blush and contour. Notice how she’s gone from the soft girl-next-door to rich boss-babe? It’s been a minute!
The Lashes Don’t Lash Out Like Before
You might have missed out on this detail. Alia’s lashes have always been fluttery. They’ve often announced themselves first in her pictures. Even in this photo, they stand out. You just know that mascara played an important role in her aesthetic.
But they’re not as obvious anymore. They look very toned-down now. I do miss her dreamy, voluptuous lashes sometimes.
TBH, Alia’s versatility doesn’t surprise me anymore. She did go from Student Of The Year to Gangubai Kathiawadi, and how. Nothing is off limits for her: beauty and otherwise.
