Surviving the big bad world of the film industry is a hectic job. And our stars find it extremely hard to balance their professional and romantic life. How often do we read about the most unexpected pair dating each other and the most loved couple suddenly breaking up? However, some Bollywood affairs are so hush-hush or short-lived that we almost forget about them.
You may not remember but a lot of Indian celebs including Deepika Padukone and Anushka Sharma have surprised us with their dating choices in the past. And if you’re a Bollywood buff, then you would enjoy our attempt at refreshing your memory!
1. Ahaana Deol & Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh dated Hema Malini and Dharmendra’s second daughter Ahaana Deol in college. The reason for their breakup is still unknown and Ahaana is now married to a Delhi-based businessman Vaibhav Vora.
2. Ahaana Deol & Aditya Roy Kapur

Ahaana and Aditya Roy Kapur dated for about four years, however, none of them spoke about their relationship in public.

Back in 2008, Yuvraj was in the news a lot because of his relationship with Deepika Padukone. The rumours of their marriage were all over the place but they were just rumours. The cricketer is now happily married to actress Hazel Keech and Deepika is, of course, married to Ranveer Singh.

Business tycoon Siddharth Mallya and Deepika were all over the news for their PDA during a match. There were also rumours of Siddharth gifting her a flat. After Ranbir Kapoor, looks like Deepika found love in Siddharth, however, she apparently dumped the big boy after he asked her to pick up the bill after a dinner date.
5. Deepika Padukone & Nihaar Pandya

During her modelling days, Deepika used to date model Nihaar Pandya. The two met at an acting school in Mumbai. They were apparently in a live-in relationship before the split. After Nihaar, Deepika started dating Ranbir Kapoor. As per Nihaar’s interview with a leading daily, all is good between the two and they ended their relationship on a friendly note.
6. Avantika Malik & Ranbir Kapoor

We’ve all had teenage crushes and romances that we’ve grown out of. Ranbir and Avantika’s relationship was something on those lines. Avantika used to work in a popular TV show Just Mohobbat and Ranbir often used to visit her on the sets to spend time with her. The two grew out of it with time. Avantika got married to Imran Khan and has a beautiful daughter Imara. However, due to some irreconcilable differences, the couple’s marriage is moving towards its end. Ranbir is currently dating Alia Bhatt.
7. Jacqueline Fernandez & Sajid Khan

Yup, that happened. Jackie and Sajid dated each other for three years. Their relationship ended in 2013. Sajid Khan wasn’t happy with the breakup and even made a sexist comment in his interview with a leading daily. He said, “When you don’t have a woman in your life, you don’t have someone constantly nagging you, so you end up working better and are more focused.”
8. Sushmita Sen & Randeep Hooda

Who hasn’t been charmed by this gorgeous woman?! She started dating Randeep Hooda in 2004. They broke up after a three-year-long relationship. As per Randeep, during the course of their relationship, he became close to Sushmita’s daughter Reneé. The couple handled the breakup gracefully and moved on. Sushmita is currently dating Rohman Shawl.
9. Priyanka Chopra & Aseem Merchant

Before she started her career as a model, Priyanka started dating Aseem Merchant, who was also a model. They broke up in 2000 but after a few years, Aseem Merchant announced a biopic based on PeeCee’s struggling days in the industry, 67 Days. Apparently, Priyanka sent a legal notice to Aseem for his “guts”.
10. Raveena Tandon & Akshay Kumar

Back in 1999, Raveena Tandon revealed in an interview that Akshay and she secretly got engaged in a temple but Akshay never admitted the same as he was afraid of losing his female-following. After their breakup, Akshay settled with Twinkle Khanna in 2001 and Raveena married Anil Thadani in 2004.
11. Pooja Bhatt & Aamir Khan

After they worked together in Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi, the stars were apparently dating each other. After the breakup, they haven’t been very cordial but Pooja Bhatt has admitted theirs to be a love-hate relationship.

They first met each other on the sets of Kismet Konnection in 2008 and broke up in about a year. Vidya is now married to Siddharth Roy Kapur. Shahid Kapoor is married to Mira Rajput and is a father to two cute kids, Misha and Zain.

As per the reports, after working in Had Kar Di Apne, Govinda had an extramarital affair with Rani Mukherji in 2000. Govinda eventually decided to keep his marriage with wife Sunita and broke up with Rani. Rani is now happily married to Aditya Chopra.

Before getting married to Aishwarya Rai, Abhishek dated actress Dipannita Sharma. Dipannita said in an interview that Abhishek was never a friend to her and the time they had together is of no importance to her. Ouch.

Since SOTY, we’ve spotted Alia with Sidharth Malhotra and now, Ranbir Kapoor. However, much before she became a popular face, she was in a relationship with Ali Dadarkar. They were in school together and were childhood sweethearts. After her breakup with Sidharth, Alia was seen spending quality time with Ali again but she’s currently dating Ranbir.
16. Anushka Sharma & Zoheb Yusuf

Anushka and Zoheb started dating each other during their modelling days. They met each other in Bangalore for the first time. Both of them came to Mumbai to try their luck in Bollywood. Anushka received her golden opportunity and became a Yash Raj girl while Zoheb moved back to Bangalore. And of course, as we all know, Anushka is currently married to Virat Kohli.

Bachchan bahurani has had her share of linkups and breakups. Much before Abhishek, Vivek or Salman, the actress was dating a model named Rajeev Mulchandani. The two started modelling together but Aishwarya soon broke up with him. She then started dating Salman and is now married to Abhishek Bachchan.

The actress became a Hollywood celebrity overnight. But before that, she dated Rohan Antao. Her ex told media that fame got to her head and hence, she broke their supposed engagement as well. Later, Freida dated her co-star Dev Patel.

Sonakshi may have turned out to be a lucky mascot for many when it comes to hitting a 100-crore film but she hasn’t been linked to many actors in Bollywood. Apparently, Sonakshi was dating the Managing Director of Fame Cinemas, Aditya Shroff for two years. The relationship ended after they had a massive fight over a personal matter. Aditya later married TV actress Megha Gupta but they parted ways after four years of marriage.
20. Arpita Khan & Arjun Kapoor

Before he entered Bollywood or was in headlines for upsetting Salman Khan for dating his bhabi Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor dated Arpita for two years. Arpita broke up with Arjun. The reason isn’t known though. Arjun also called it his first serious relationship.
21. Kangana Ranaut & Adhyayan Suman

Before she became the queen of Bollywood, Kangana was mostly treated as an outsider as she had no godfather in the industry. Apparently, to strengthen her connections, Kangana started dating Shekhar Suman’s son Adhyayan Suman. However, after her big break in Gangster, their relationship fizzled out. Adhyayan Suman opened up about the breakup to media and said that Kangana used him to make connections and ruined his life.
22. Priyanka Bhatia & Neil Nitin Mukesh

Neil Nitin Mukesh dated designer Priyanka Bhatia for a long time. He was also engaged to her. After his debut in 2007 in Johnny Gaddar and the successful list of films that followed, he realised that his and Priyanka’s work paths were very different from each other’s. So he called off the engagement and later married Rukmini Sahay. The couple now has a beautiful daughter named Nurvi.
