In Feb 2023, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani made us fall in love with them with their oh-so-dreamy wedding pictures. They truly looked like a match made in heaven and even convinced us that there’s indeed a happily ever after. But before getting hitched, the couple almost managed to keep their relationship away from the limelight. They still haven’t revealed much about their love story but many speculate that it all started on the sets of Shershaah. Now guess what? Turns out it was all true!
For the unversed, Sidharth played the role of Captain Vikram Batra and immortalised his sacrifice in the movie Shershaah. Kiara, on the other hand, played the role of Dimpy who was his love interest. During the making of the film, Sid and Kiara formed a great bond with the actual Batra family and even invited them to their wedding and reception. Recently, Captain Vikram Batra’s twin brother, Vishal Batra revealed some heartwarming details about Sid and Kiara’s love story.
In an interview, Vishal, who is an investment banker said, “Sidharth is a very lovely, honest, and soft-hearted guy. It was on December 24, 2016, that my dad and I met Sidharth for the first time. I am really happy looking back at the marriage of those two people. To us, their love story began during the movie shoot. I apologise if I am wrong, but I think this story began when they were shooting in Palampur. I used to meet Kiara and Sidharth often. They once came to our place in Palampur and sought the blessings of our mom and dad. At that time, I sensed ‘love is in the air’ between them. When I looked into their eyes, I could see the chemistry developing.”
Vishal talked about their wedding as well. He shared how for two minutes he wished it was Vikram’s wedding. He said, “When I attended their wedding, I couldn’t help but think of how I could have been at Vikram’s wedding. For maybe two minutes, I wished it was his wedding. I wished it was Dimple there so that her dream of marrying the boy she loved got fulfilled. But, if not the real Vikram’s, then at least the reel Vikram’s. I was very happy for them as they make a lovely couple. To me, the real love of Vikram and Dimple that didn’t happen because of destiny happened in real life.”
While real Vikram and Dimpy couldn’t get their happy ending, it is certainly great to see our reel-life Vikram and Dimpy getting one. Here’s wishing them a lifetime of happiness.
