“My father, under the pretence of ‘work’, sent me to Ladakh, however, Aditya showed up there and proposed to me.” Imagine how beautiful a love story that started like this would be! And since you’re probably wondering who this story belongs to, then let’s just put you out of your confusion. The lucky girl who got this dreamy proposal in Ladakh is our very own Plixxo Super Blogger, Maia Sethna. She recently had a beautiful wedding in Mumbai and we simply can’t seem to get over it. Her wedding hashtag was #DottyForMaia, Dotty being Aditya’s nickname and also meaning crazy! That’s super creative! Apart from her gorge wedding, we also totally loved her bridal fashion looks. Her style is so quirky and fresh, and she nailed each and every one of her looks with so much élan.
Before we dive into her fashion looks though, let’s tell you in short about Maia and Aditya’s adorable love story and how it all started. And hey, who better than the bride herself to tell her love tale to the world?!
Over to Maia…
“Aditya and I actually first met in the 1st grade, but after a few years of school, his family shifted abroad and we lost touch. Growing up, he was always in and out of Bombay but we were part of the same social circle and would see each other occasionally. We then both found ourselves working in Delhi and connected. We instantly clicked and always made each other laugh, which according to me is a very attractive and important quality. We dated for 4 years before getting married and 3 years, before he proposed.”
Now isn’t that super duper cute? Even though it wasn’t always a love story, to us, it seems that they were always destined to be together.
And now moving on to her bridal fashion looks. Maia being a fashion blogger herself, made sure that her bridal style was on point for all her functions. And boy did she nail them like a pro!!! Here is what she had to say about it…
“I have always taken a lot of interest in what I wear and how I style myself, so for the wedding, the pressure was on! I wanted to get my outfits custom made so that we could fit a bit of my personality and style into each look.”
Maia had an interesting story about all her outfits, so let’s get back to her for those interesting tidbits. Over to Maia, again…
The beautiful mehendi ceremony outfit
“For the Mehendi function, I went with a gorgeous Payal Singhal lehenga. I resonate with her contemporary designs; she approaches traditional with a renewed perspective. After a personal consultation with the designer, we decided to go for her beautiful off shoulder lehenga in turquoise blue, which would fit perfectly into my bohemian theme.”
I wore a gorgeous polki choker from Khurana Jewellers. My hair and make-up artist for this function was Lekha Shah from the cut collective and she created a look, which went perfectly with the rest of my ensemble. The highlight was my hairstyle; a beautiful floral crown with a lovely messy braid.
The Parsi wedding outfit
Designer and former Miss India, Sabita Dhanrajgir designed the beautiful outfits I wore for my Parsi functions. We sat together and discussed every detail and then watched the outfit come alive; the outfit was a lehenga with an attached dupatta. The colour scheme was ivory with gold embroidery and lots of added sparkles. We added a net frill at the bottom for a little bit of drama.
Parsi brides usually wear white or pastel shades. I wore a stunning set of diamond chandelier earrings and necklace. Mehera Kolah and her team did my hair and makeup.
Sangeet cum reception
For the very last function; which was a Sangeet cum reception, I approached Sherina Dalamal’s luxury label Cherie D. Her creations are elegant, ultra-feminine with just the right amount of bling. I was delighted with my outfit, a dark pink lehenga with a heavily embroidered skirt in dull gold. I felt every bit the princess.
The outfit was complimented by a gorgeous polki set from Khurana jewellers. The wonderful Mehera Kolah and team did my hair and makeup for my reception too.
We are totally in love with each one of Maia’s bridal fashion looks, and we’re sure you are too! We wish Maia and Aditya a super happy married life ahead!
