Nobody can understand the pain a family goes through when they have lost a loved one, especially when the loved one happens to be a mother of two young daughters. It’s so much worse when the woman is also the first female superstar to ever grace the screens of Indian cinema and has a special place in all our hearts. Yesterday, during Sridevi’s final journey, the nation teared up to see their beloved Sridevi being taken away from them, this time forever.

The moving letter was tweeted from Sridevi’s official Twitter account. The members of the Kapoor family, including Sonam, Rhea and Mohit Marwah, also posted it on Instagram and thanked fans for the love and support shown during these trying times. The family also asked for a little private time to grieve without any media interference.
While we may not be able to help the family cope with their loss, we should give them what is rightfully theirs – privacy and respect. Sridevi did live her life with utmost dignity and honour and that is just how her death should be mourned, instead of turning it into a media fanfare.
