The Kapoors

Famous for their nicknames, foody get-togethers, and gold-standard Punjabi genes, Kapoors are the oldest Bollywood family. The Kapoor legacy started with Prithviraj Kapoor, founding member of the Hindi film industry, and it’s almost 80 years old! The fam boasts of legendary names like Raj Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, and Rishi Kapoor. The current Kapoor clan also has some big names like Kareena, Karisma, and Ranbir, who’ve had a phenomenal run at the movies! 

The Bachchans

Rishte mei ye sab ke baap lagte hain, naam hai–Bachchans! That’s because the family has all successful actors—Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In fact, Abhishek’s nephew Agastya Nanda is also making his debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Archies.

Anil Kapoor’s Family

The “Anil waale” Kapoors is also one of the jhakaas families of Bollywood that is headed by three brothers–Boney (producer), Anil, and Sanjay Kapoor. Their elder kids–Sonam, Harshvardhan, Arjun, and Janhvi Kapoor are also actors. The younger ones–Khushi and Shanaya are all set to make their debuts soon.

Filmmaker bros B.R. and Yash Chopra are known for their immense contribution to Hindi cinema. Yash Raj Films’ current vaaris Aditya Chopra is a successful producer and director too. But did you know that the multi-talented (and omnipresent) Karan Johar is Aditya’s cousin? His mommy, Hiroo Johar is Yash Chopra’s sister. Clearly, filmmaking is in the blood!

Salman’s Khan-daan

Salman Khan‘s daddy Salim Khan is a veteran screenwriter. He co-wrote Sholay with Javed Akhtar! Bhaijaan has two real bhai jaans–Arbaaz and Sohail. While Salman Khan’s marriage is still the biggest unresolved issue for his fans, Arbaaz was married to actress Malaika Arora and Sohail was married to designer and reality TV star, Seema Sajdeh. Salman’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma is also a movie star, while his nephews–Arhaan and Nirvaan have a massive teen following despite being away from the movies. 

The Pataudis

Yesteryear actress Sharmila Tagore became the begum of Indian Cricket Team’s ex-captain and the then-nawaab of Pataudi–Mansoor Ali Khan. The couple had three kids, Saba, Saif and Soha. Saif and Soha followed in mommy’s footsteps and became actors.

While Saif’s first-born, Sarah Ali Khan has already made a name for herself in the film indusrty, his son Ibrahim will make a debut soon with a Dharma Production venture. His younger sons–Taimur and Jehangir are already stars and are followed by the paps quite often!

Known for their eccentric ways and brilliant filmmaking, Mahesh Bhatt is a proud father to actresses Pooja and Alia Bhatt.
