Everyone has heard about Akshay Kumar’s Canadian passport. Well, the latest tea is that he is planning to renounce it! The announcement comes after years of internet scrutiny and just before the release of his new film (Ahem!). But hey, Canadian Kumar is not the only desi celeb with a foreign passport. Here’s a list of six more that might leave you pretty shocked:
Alia Bhatt
I bet you didn’t expect her to be on this list. Alia holds a British passport! Her mother, Soni Razdan, was born in Birmingham, United Kingdom and that’s why Alia holds British citizenship.
Katrina Kaif
Katrina Kaif too holds a British passport. She was born in Hong Kong and both her parents are British citizens. By default, it makes her one too.
Kalki Koechlin
Kalki holds a French passport. She was born to French parents, Joël Koechlin and Françoise Armandie. They moved to India after Kalki’s birth.
Jacqueline Fernandez
Jacqueline was born in Manama, Bahrain to Sri Lankan father, Elroy Fernandez, and Malaysian- Canadian mother, Kim. Despite being born in Bahrain, Jacqueline holds Sri Lankan citizenship. She even won the Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2006 crown before making her Bollywood debut.
Nora Fatehi
Nora Fatehi has been setting the stage on fire with her hit moves. Though having her roots in Morocco, Nora holds Canadian citizenship as she was born and raised there.
