Bolly girls have often drawn inspiration from the West, while Hollywood actresses have frequently donned outfits by Indian designers. They’ve also often worn the exact same outfit! However, two people wearing the same dress can look completely different, all because of styling. But it’s certainly fun to see Bollywood and Hollywood girls twinning with their fashion choices.

Sonam Kapoor & Anne Hathaway In Valentino
If Anne Hathaway is ever a part of Bollywood in a parallel universe, then Sonam Kapoor would definitely be her bestie! Both actresses almost never go wrong with fashion. Recently, Sonam wore a vibrant yellow shirt dress from Valentino. Soon after, Anne also wore the same shirt dress, but unlike Sonam’s black pants, she teamed it with matching shorts. While Sonam accessorised the look with boho jewellery, Anne opted for a statement diamond necklace!
Deepika Padukone & Bella Hadid In Dolce & Gabbana
Bella Hadid chose this Dolce & Gabbana black satin dress as her birthday outfit in 2017. In 2022, Deepika Padukone wore the same dress to Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s post-wedding party. Although both divas wore the midi bodycon dress with black strappy heels, DP opted for long diamond danglers while Bella went accessory-free!
Disha Patani & Ariana Grande In David Koma
I used to think Disha Patani and Ariana Grande had the same aesthetic. My theory was confirmed when both divas wore the same David Koma dress. Disha wore the lilac bodycon dress to the Heropanti 2 premiere. This was shortly after Ariana wore the same dress to her Mixtape Medley performance. The difference between the two was that Disha’s look was a lot more flamboyant with holographic heels and rhinestones on the eyelids, while Ariana’s was more reserved as she went accessory-free with black heels.
Alia Bhatt & Olivia Culpo In Magda Butrym
One of Alia Bhatt‘s best looks from last year was her Magda Butrym ensemble, which she wore to Apoorva Mehta’s birthday bash. The floral, bright red outfit consisted of a strapless, ruched bustier dress layered with a matching tuxedo-style silk blazer. This was just a year after American model Olivia Culpo wore the same dress. The model, on the other hand, skipped the matching blazer in favour of a red cowhide coat. Both the divas donned red heels.
Ananya Panday & Dakota Johnson In Magda Butrym
Ananya Panday wore the same dress as Dakota Johnson for her film’s promotion last year! The red Magda Butrym dress was embellished with two flowers and had structured shoulder pads. Both looks were styled similarly, with the exception of Panday’s shoes, which were black, as opposed to Johnson’s red pumps, which matched her dress. Dakota Johnson’s dress also had three flowers, whereas Ananya’s only had two.
Katrina Kaif & Candice Swanepoel In Naeem Khan
Katrina Kaif’s shimmery black pantsuit by Naeem Khan, which she wore to an awards function in 2019, is still one of my fave looks of hers! The same pantsuit was also worn by Victoria’s Secret model Candice Swanepoel during an event back in 2017. While Kat wore a Shehla Khan-designed black lace bralette underneath, Candice wore the blazer by itself with nothing underneath. Both fashionistas opted for pointed-toe black pumps.
Sonam Kapoor & Dakota Johnson In Gucci
Sonam Kapoor is proof that even fashion gurus need inspiration from time to time. While promoting her film in 2019, the actress wore a printed Gucci ensemble, which was donned by Dakota Johnson not long ago. The three-piece ensemble included a strapless corset top, flared pants, and an oversized blazer. Dakota opted not to wear the blazer, unlike Sonam. The Holly star wore black heels with zero accessories, whereas the Bolly star wore diamond hoops and layered necklaces with bright red tie-up heels!
Shraddha Kapoor & Gigi Hadid In Prabal Gurung
Shraddha Kapoor wore the same shimmery lemon yellow Prabal Gurung dress that Gigi Hadid wore in 2018. The outfit featured a glittery peplum bodice paired with a side-slit A-line skirt. Since the outfit was already drenched in shimmer, Shraddha and Gigi kept their accessories to a minimum. Gigi opted for mustard pumps and bold red lips, as opposed to Shraddha’s nude heels and nude lips. Both divas, however, accessorised with floral earrings!
Deepika Padukone & Kylie Jenner In Balmain x H&M
Deepika wore a gold embellished Balmain x H&M dress with long sleeves to the Bigg Boss 10 premiere in 2018. This was only a year after Kylie Jenner wore the same dress at the launch of the brand’s collection. Not only did the two fashion queens wear the same dress, but they also wore the same Sergio Rossi knee-high boots! While both DP and Kylie skipped accessories, the only difference was that Kylie chose to cinch the dress at the waist with a belt.
Kareena Kapoor & Demi Lovato In Bibhu Mohapatra
While Poo from K3G would never approve of wearing the same outfit as someone else, Bebo IRL doesn’t seem to mind! The actress twinned with American singer Demi Lovato back in 2017 when they both wore a fiery red sequined dress by Bibhu Mohapatra around the same time. Both the divas styled the peekaboo dress quite similarly. The only difference? Demi went monotone with red heels, whereas Bebo chose black.
Gone are the days when two actresses showing up in the same dress was something to get offended by. Fashion, after all, is all about sharing and learning!
