There’s a high chance that the Kardashians are influencing your fashion choices and you do not even realise it!
From bodycon midis to glamm athleisure, the sisters start the trends and the world can’t help but follow. Of late, Bollywood fashionistas seem to be equally influenced. The Kardashian phenomenon has swept over B-town and I made a list of all the divas who have been taking ‘a lil too much’ inspiration. Scroll down:
Risquéing It With Cut-outs!
A cut-out dress is the easiest way to look drop-dead gorgeous. Shanaya Kapoor’s velvet black cut-out gown for Karan Johar’s 50th birthday bash was a lot like Kourtney’s from NYFW 2016. I’m not complaining ‘coz it looked damn good! Clearly, cut-outs aren’t going out of style any time soon.
Wrapped In Latex
I’ve seen quite a few B-town divas dolled up in body-hugging latex outfits. Well, we have the Kardashians (especially Kim) to thank for this sexy, sexy trend. The sisters stand by the “if you’ve got it, you must flaunt it” mantra and Janhvi Kapoor agrees! She recently styled a bodycon black latex dress with long gloves and gave major Kim K vibes.
Drape It Like It’s Hot!
Kardashians love all things draped and B-town divas have been taking notes. Case in point—Bhumi Pednekar‘s recent emerald green gown that was very similar to Kourtney’s gown from the 2019 Christmas party! In fact, not just this one time, Bhumi has been taking a lot of inspiration from the reality stars and nailing it!
Staying Neutral!
I loved jewel hues until the sisters introduced me to neutrals like beige, off-white, and caramel. While they do not shy away from vibrant colours, neutrals are definitely their comfort zone. Not surprisingly, even Bollywood divas have jumped on the bandwagon. Doesn’t Janhvi Kapoor’s beige dress look like it was inspired by Kylie Jenner?
Catsuits Are The New Jumpsuits
Nobody does catsuits better than Kim and Khloe! However, Ananya Panday gave them stiff competition in a black catsuit during a 2022 dinner party in NYC. One of my favourite looks of the actress, it was very similar to Kim’s Dolce & Gabbana catsuit from September 2022. Just like Kim, the SOTY 2 star accessorised with OTT diamond jewellery and black pumps. Def inspired and a total slay!
Clearly, B-town fashionistas love ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians.’ Well, who doesn’t?
