In 2020, every time we refreshed our Instagram feed, new wedding pictures showed up. It was raining weddings this year and we saw some of our fav celebrities tie the knot with their soulmates in the most beautiful settings. From Neha Kakkar and Rohanpreet Singh’s chatt mangani patt shaadi to Kajal Aggarwal and Gautam Kitchlu’s dreamy quarantine wedding, the shaadi season in B-Town kept on getting better while we watched hawk-eyed for more and more gorg pictures to come out. In fact, 2020 ended with the wedding of our all-time favourite style icon, actress Gauahar Khan and Zaid Darbar.
While many of these shaadis were not like the conventional weddings we are used to seeing–with hundreds of guests and the usual OTT band baaja baraat scenario–but was anything conventional about 2020 at all? We doubt! However, apart from the coronavirus pandemic, these weddings were definitely the highlight of this year. From adjusting to the new norms to taking every precaution to make sure that safety comes first, our Bollywood celebrities showed us that not even a pandemic can come in the way as long as love prevails (with the required guidelines, of course, let’s not get too filmy here).
From taking notes on stunning bridal lehengas to quirky mathapattis, we did it all but honestly, we don’t think we have had enough. We are a sucker for weddings, eternal vows, love that defies all odds, and everything that’s mushy and romantic. And frankly, who doesn’t like happily ever after?
So Bollywood if you’re listening, we don’t want this streak of weddings to end ever! And to make things easier, we have even come up with a list of celebrity couples whom we totally wish to see getting married in 2021. Read on to know more –
Varun Dhawan & Natasha Dalal
In 2019, we heard that Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal would tie the knot in Goa by the end of the year. Needless to say, we were OTT excited but sadly, the wedding didn’t happen owing to the pandemic. Later, Varun revealed on Koffee with Karan season 6 that he might get married to his long-term girlfriend in 2020. And while we eagerly waited all year long, Varun remained unaffected from the wedding streak that we saw this year.
However, we did get to learn recently that Varun and Natasha might already be engaged. Thanks to Bebo aka Kareena Kapoor Khan and her radio chat show What Women Want. Also, remember the fancy Karva Chauth party hosted by Sunita Kapoor this year that so many B-Town wives attended? Yes, Natasha attended it as well with her would-be-MIL, Laali Dhawan.
Okay, with so much going on, the pandemic might have been the reason why the lovebirds are not officially hitched yet, but 2021 can totally be the year when we finally hear the wedding bells, right? We hope so!
Alia Bhatt & Ranbir Kapoor
From baking birthday cakes for each other, indulging in some much-appreciated social media PDA to attending special occasions with each other’s families, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt’s relationship has been going stronger than ever and all we can say is, nazar na lagey!
We saw #Ralia make plenty of public appearances this year and next year we will see their chemistry on-screens for the first time in Brahamastra. Will 2021 also be the year when the lovebirds finally tie the knot? Why not?!
Arjun Kapoor & Malaika Arora
Like Varun and Natasha, Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor also keep us confused with their wedding plans. In fact, we legit heard a rumour doing rounds on the internet that Malaika Arora and her girl gang were enjoying her bachelorette in the Maldives. Seriously, ye internet bhi na!!
The Ki and Ka actor recently opened up about his relationship in an interview and said, “Even though I come from a broken home, I believe in marriage. I see a lot of happily married couples around. I believe it is a good option to have.” Although the actor concluded by saying that he does not want to jump on the bandwagon instantly, but we totally wish to see these two hotties tying the knot in 2021.
Rajkummar Rao & Patralekha
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha are one of the steadiest couples in Bollywood. They have never shied away from accepting their relationship, never been a part of any controversy, and never given a hint that there’s anything wrong in their little paradise for the last eight years. So honestly, if they do decide to take their relationship to the next phase in 2021, we wouldn’t be surprised. But, excited? FOSHO!
Sushmita Sen & Rohman Shawl
Rohman Shawl and Sushmita Sen look almost like family and that’s pretty much clear with their sweet pictures and videos all over their social media handles. Their adorable family pics make us go *aww* and we find ourselves wishing from time and again that this doting couple tie the knot soon. BTW, in an Instagram live session hosted by Sush recently, a fan asked about her wedding plans that she wittingly dodged and passed it on to her bae. Rohman candidly replied, “puch kar batata hoon.” So Rohman, have you popped the question yet?
Tiger Shroff & Disha Patani
Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani’s game of ‘we are just good friends‘ is still going strong but honestly, public sab jaanti hai. From attending B-Town parties together to enjoying the Maldives vacations in a hush-hush manner, Tiger and Disha do it all. They truly are one of the hottest and fittest couples of Bollywood and we so wish that they make their relationship saat-phere-official in 2021.
Farhan Akhtar & Shibani Dandekar
The couple who sing-bake-exercise-vacay-dive-and basically do everything together, stay together. Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar’s Instagram handles are full of some major #CoupleGoals pictures that we totally cannot get enough of. We wish that this amazing couple also have a wedding on their 2021 to-do list along with many other adventures!
Tara Sutaria & Aadar Jain
Tara Sutaria and Aadar Jain have not confirmed their relationship in so many words but have dropped enough hints for the fans to know what’s cooking between the two. Tara was Aadar’s plus one at Armaan Jain’s wedding and the couple won our hearts with their sizzling dance performances. From writing mushy captions for each other on the ‘Gram to planning quick birthday getaways to the Maldives, these two celebs have quickly become one of our fav B-Town couples and we hope to see them as husband and wife very soon.

Richa Chadha & Ali Fazal

We don’t know about you but our hearts totally melted when we heard Ali Fazal dedicate these beautiful lines to his lady love, Richa Chadha. This long-time couple were getting married this year but damn the pandemic that changed the plans! Anyhoo, the lovebirds have recently shifted to a new abode together and totally plan on tying the knot next year. So, fingers crossed!

Do aliens exist? Did Pooja truly kick it by mistake? Will Salman Khan ever get married?
Those are the questions that have been on our minds since… forever. And while we do not know about the first two, we might get the answer to the last question if the Bhai of Bollywood ever decides to give us one.
Interestingly enough, during the 2020 lockdown, we did get some hints that Salman’s alleged girlfriend Iulia Vantur was spending some quality time with him at his Panvel farmhouse. Apart from the snaps that she shared on her IG handle apparently from the farmhouse, a video started doing rounds on the internet where Salman accidentally interrupted her interview. Needless to say, these reasons were enough to make us wonder if we are finally going to witness the most-awaited wedding of B-Town in 2021!
We do hope that a lot of things in 2021 are different than what we witnessed in 2020 (read: no more pandemic, please). But we certainly don’t want the shaadi madness to end, ever!
