It is a dog-eat-dog world out there. Especially in an industry like Bollywood where there is an overdose of power, money and adulation. And with all that fame, you’re bound to have a few ego clashes here and there. After all, the ego serves little purpose apart from creating rifts between two otherwise sane and reasonable people. So here are a few Bollywood celebrities who hate each other and famously do not get along. You’ll be surprised at some of them.
1. Salman Khan – Vivek Oberoi
Thanks to a common ex, one we shall not name, both Salman and Vivek cannot stand the sight of each other. After Vivek Oberoi called a press conference and talked about Salman Khan threatening him and his then-girlfriend, our Bhai then boycotted him and rumours are that Vivek stopped getting good offers after this famous fallout!
2. Kareena Kapoor Khan – Bipasha Basu
The co-actors who worked together in Bipasha’s debut movie, Ajnabee, fell out of favour with each other soon enough after Bips made a comment stating “I will not work with Kareena again. Because you either get along with people or you don’t. I believe that if you get along with people off screen, you gel with them on screen.” Since then, it has only gone downhill, considering John Abraham and Bipasha Basu once made fun of Kareena Kapoor Khan.
3. Sonam Kapoor – Aishwarya Rai
Sonam Kapoor has been known for her no filter comments. And even this time, it was her motor mouth that caused this problem with Aishwarya Rai. When Aishwarya refused to walk the red carpet with Sonam after she was appointed the brand ambassador of L’oreal, Sonam called her an ‘aunty’ and it clearly did not sit well with the former Miss World.
4. Kangana Ranaut – Deepika Padukone
This feud seems to be running pretty deep. After Deepika dedicated an award to Kangana at a popular awards function, Kangana was miffed since she felt it was a PR activity instead of genuine appreciation. Since then things have constantly gone downhill. Kangana did not even sign the ‘Deepika Bachao’ letter that was sent by the industry after she got threats for her role in Padmaavat.
5. Aamir Khan – Shah Rukh Khan
I really don’t want to say anything on this one because so much has been said already. But the only way to understand the extent of their rivalry is through Aamir’s statement on his blog “Shahrukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for? Now, before you jump to any conclusions let me add that Shahrukh is the name of our dog. And before you jump to any further conclusions let me add that I had nothing to do with naming him.”
6. Kareena Kapoor Khan – Priyanka Chopra
Once good friends turned foes overnight because of reasons unknown. We figured they were fighting when Kareena asked Priyanka on Koffee With Karan where she got her accent from to which Priyanka replied saying “I think it was the same place her boyfriend gets it from.” Ouch!
7. Amitabh Bachchan – Shatrughan Sinha
We did not know that superstars of their stature could be hostile to one another but turns out that they are. While Sonakshi Sinha and Abhishek Bachchan have tried extremely hard to dispel the rumours of fights but Shatrughan Sinha, in his official biography has released a few statements that tell another story. He has said “During a fight sequence in Kaala Patthar, the scene was changed to Amitabh beating the hell out of me. He kept beating me until Shashi Kapoor separated us.”
8. Anushka Sharma – Deepika Padukone
Again a fight started due to a common love interest. After Ranveer allegedly left Anushka for Deepika, there were bound to be hard feelings. Anushka has also gone on record to say “A friend of Deepika’s had called up to say that she is doing Yeh Jawaani Hai Diwani and not Anushka. My ‘friends’ don’t call, do they? I am Kashyap’s and Hirani’s choice. She is Ayan’s and whosoever’s. I never pull anybody down. That makes me nice, right?”
