This season of Bigg Boss is one of our favourites because it features the most diverse batch of contestants. Sumbul Touqeer, 19, is the youngest of them all. She appeared to be a promising player when she first arrived. Despite her young age, Sumbul has amassed a sizable fan base owing to the success of her show, Imlie. While the audience had high expectations for the actress, she was unable to live up to them.
Earlier, it was said that Sumbul was the highest paid contestant of Bigg Boss 16. According to the buzz, the actress was beingpaid a hefty sum of 12 lakh rupees per week because there were expectations that she would boost the show’s TRP. However, she has been unable to make any significant contribution throughout the course of the show. Aside from the drama with Shalin Bhanot and Tina Datta, Sumbul has struggled to find her own identity in the house. As a result, the makers have decided to reduce her fees.
As per reports, Sumbul’s fees will go down to 6 lakh rupees per week, which is half of what her original fees was. Bigg Boss recently announced a four-week extension of the show. As per the contract, following an extension, contestants usually get paid more than what they entered for, but Sumbul will be facing the opposite. If the rumours are to be believed, then the actress will be the first-ever Bigg Boss contestant to have faced a reduction in fees. Sumbul’s slashed fees will make Tina Datta the highest paid contestant in the house.
It’s been 12 weeks since the show premiered, and we’re only now seeing Sumbul express her thoughts and take a stand. We’ve seen a lot more of the actress since she split from Shalin and joined the “mandli,” but it’s still not enough. While we understand that her fans expected much more from her, but let’s not forget that she is just a 19-year-old. And, TBH, she sometimes appears to be too young to be a part of this house.
