Beyoncé has been on our minds forever because of all things beauty. As a beauty writer, one of the first things that come to my mind when I see someone — especially if they have amazing skin — is what products they use. This also applies to Queen B. The good news is that she has revealed that her preferred routine before important events is a good hydrafacial.
For overcoming skin issues and enjoying some pampering time for yourself, facial treatments are a necessity. Hence I tried this hydrafacial in an effort to have skin as beautiful as hers. Hang in there, because I’m going to share the steps of this rejuvenating yet beautifying facial.
Queen B’s Hydrafacial Is The Perfect Way To Wake Up To Glowing Skin

Step 1: Dive Into A Relaxing Massage
They started with a mechanical lymphatic drainage massage that will remove all the fluid buildup. It is also said to improve the flow of oxygen to the skin. These are the hour-long hydrafacial generally marked by two optional add-ons. Oh boy, this step will be a relaxing experience and wholly restorative for your skin.
Step 2: Exfoliation Is Key
The spiral tip of the hydrafacial machine is known for being able to perform both “extracting” and “delivery” actions, which allows the device to simultaneously remove dirt from your pores and flood them with moisturising and/or exfoliating formulations. This becomes important in the following stage, when the skin is thoroughly washed and then buffed away. Next, the skin is treated with a mixture of glucosamine and lactic acid, which moisturises and exfoliates at the same time.
Step 3: Double Cleanse With A Chemical Peel
This facial then moves on to the tingling stage, when a glycolic and salicylic acid peel was administered to my skin. This step double-cleanses your pores of dirt and brightens your skin. If you’re a little leery about chemical peels, remember that the acids are not left on for very long so there is no chance of any kind of burn.
Step 4: Extraction Is Bliss
The main course — the extraction — comes next. I’d be lying if I claimed this wasn’t part of the treatment because I was most looking forward to it as I’ve given myself more than one scar in the quest of painstakingly extracting a recalcitrant blackhead. Whiteheads, blackheads, and other impurities are extracted from your pores by the machine’s spiral tip, which spins and creates a vacuum-like sucking motion.
Step 5: Inject Beauty Into Your Skin
The second to final step of the facial is the closest to feeling luxurious: a clinic-specific mixture of peptides, antioxidants, and hyaluronic acid was injected into my skin in an effort to give it a delectable plumpness. Although I simply observed a general glow, this step’s hydration is supposed to be powerful enough to temporarily fill in fine wrinkles.
Step 6: LED Light Therapy
This final stage, which comprises LED light treatment, is completely elective, much like the lymphatic massage. I had the option of red or blue, but I picked red since it boosts collagen formation and reduces any post-procedure redness. FYI, blue is antimicrobial and helps regulate acne and oil.
Heads up: hydrafacials might be pricey, but you can’t really put a value on perfectly clean pores and a radiant, lit-from-within glow.
