As anticipated, the Dior Mumbai show turned out to be a fashion extravaganza. And I’m speaking about the looks that happened off the runway as well. Some of India’s best-dressed made it to the show. The fashion was top-notch. The glamm was giving. And the duos were duoing. Yup! From Radhika Merchant and Isha Ambani to Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli, some of the best dressed came in twos for the Dior show.
Our eyes were, however, fixed on Gauravi Kumari and Sawai Padmanabh Singh, the Princess and Maharaja of Jaipur!
Princess Gauravi’s Polished Look!
Gauravi and Padmanabh stuck to their signature style for the Dior show and ended up being the best-dressed duo! Continuing her love affair for gauzy chiffons, Gauravi showed up in a stunning black drape. Her saree was tastefully embellished with dainty silver motifs. The princess styled it with a solid strappy blouse, danglers, and, of course, a Dior bag. Every bit stunning, the look was a lesson in how to wear a saree to a fashion show and turn heads!
More About Gauravi
Gauravi is a graduate of New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. A social entrepreneur, she has been closely working with the Princess Diya Kumari Foundation to empower the women artisans of Rajasthan. In 2021, she also opened the PDKF retail store, a one-stop shop for chic apparel and homeware.
Maharaja Padmanabh’s Dapper Look
Padmanabh aka Jaipur’s dashing Maharaja showed up in a bandhgala, of course! He, however, decided to go for a relaxed look by keeping it unbuttoned and adding a coral shirt with a standing collar. He finished off the look with crisp white trousers and the beauty was in the details of his look. The bejewelled buttons on his jacket and that kaleidoscope pocket square were just something else!
More About Padmanabh
Padmanabh Singh ascended the titular throne of Jaipur Maharaja at just 13. He is a professional polo player. He started playing competitive polo in 2015 in England and is also a member of the Guards Polo Club in Windsor. In 2017, Padmanabh has also played with Prince William and Prince Harry in England.
The Jaipur royalty surely is following in the footprints of Maharani Gayatri Devi, their very stylish great-grandmother. Can’t wait to see more of Gauravi and Padmanabh’s looks!
