Beauty Products That Are A Total Scam

The beauty industry is thriving with an influx of new products almost daily. At the same time, my wallet is crying at the number of unnecessary products on my shelf. And they aren’t even things I don’t necessarily need—they’re products that just don’t work and are pointless.

I’ve often questioned why an eye cream that claims to reduce dark circles is showing no results on me or why a serum isn’t erasing my wrinkles. Turns out, it’s not just me. The internet is sceptical, too.

Beauty Products That Are So Pointless They’ll Make You Question Why You Spent That Absurd Amount Of ₹₹₹

Eye Creams

Let’s be honest; we all saw this one coming. One of the earliest signs of ageing shows up under the eyes. From puffy under eyes to dark circles to wrinkles, if you’re above 30, you know the struggle. While most eye creams promise to eliminate fine lines, puffiness, and dark circles, they do very little in comparison. No matter how expensive the eye cream is, all it really does is rehydrate the skin temporarily.

Products That Promise To Protect Against Blue Light

The only thing that helps protect against any kind of light is a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Anything else that promises to protect against light damage from screens is a gimmick.

Collagen Creams

The skin’s natural collagen levels decrease with age or by spending too much time in the sun. Topical collagen creams have become popular in the last couple of years, and while they’re perfectly fine as moisturisers, they do little to replenish the depleted collagen.

Stretch Marks & Cellulite Products

Everything from oils to moisturisers and even body washes is created to remove stretch marks and cellulite from the skin. Unfortunately, they don’t deliver such results since clinic-based treatments like laser and microneedling don’t produce a visible distinction.

Freckle Pens

Another product that’s left me boggled is the freckle pen. Sure, freckles are cute and currently a huge trend, but another product just to achieve tiny spots on your skin when your eyeliner or kajal can deliver the same results? Ridiculous!

Don’t be like me – give a hard pass to these products. There are enough products on your shelf; you don’t need any more lying around catching dust and not living up to your expectations (that’s what men are for)!
