Most of the recent Bollywood films have failed to live up to the audience’s expectations. This explains the frenzy around Brahmastra. Ayan Mukerji’s labour of love has broken Bollywood’s dry spell. It has become the biggest film this year and the theatres are finally full. Brahmastra has been receiving rave reviews from critics and the fans are already asking for a sequel. Now, while the next part might take some time to hit the screens, director Ayan just made some major revelations about Brahmāstra: Part 2 – Dev.
In a recent conversation with a popular media portal, Ayan gave us a little sneak-peak into Dev’s storyline. “I can answer very few things about Dev. The idea was to create a very clear indication of where we are going next with the storytelling. And now we are really getting into the story of our antagonist”, he said.
The brains behind India’s first superhero multiverse further added, “Decoding it, giving you some hook to hang on to for part two. Dev is the fulcrum of the entire Brahmāstra trilogy”. Ayan also said that Dev’s backstory will not only take viewers to the past but also show its impact on the present scenario and will shift between two timelines. Sounds fascinating, doesn’t it?
According to recent buzz, Ayan started working on the sequel’s script with the first film itself. After the pandemic, the film’s outline has gone through several revisions. The director also says he’s ambitious and hopes that the audience will witness his masterpiece in 2025.
Argh, It would be a good time to build a time machine!
