Athiya Shetty’s skin is so clear and radiant, it’s hard to believe that anyone could have such a natural glow. When I see her makeup-free pics, I’m always reminded about focusing on skincare rather than hiding my skin concerns with makeup.
Naturally, I’m going to eat up any skincare advice Athiya has to share because I need skin like hers. So, when she posted about this beauty pill and the strange way she uses it in her skincare routine, I just had to know more.
What Is Athiya’s Beauty Pill?
Athiya feeds her skin with oil from vitamin E supplements. She believes it thoroughly hydrates and nourishes her skin. While these capsules are meant to be eaten to replenish vitamin E levels in the body, Athiya instead uses these pills topically as a skin treatment and she says it works for her.
Vitamin E is great for skin health and I like to get my dose topically with the POPxo Sun Soother After Sun Lotion as it contains ceramides and vitamin E.
How Does Athiya Use This Pill For Her Skin?
She posted this video showing how she takes the vitamin E pills and it’s genius. The gorgeous celeb slits open a vitamin E capsule and empties the liquid in a bowl. She then applies it to her skin and as you can see it gives her an instant glow.
Athiya’s method basically delivers a generous dose of unfiltered vitamin E to the skin and it’s amazing. Applying vitamin E oil this way moisturises the skin instantly and soothes inflammation.
After I try this amazing DIY hack, I will need to shield up my skin with sunscreen and I choose the St. Botanica Goji Berry Sunscreen Serum.
Benefits Of Vitamin E For Skin
“Vitamin E is an excellent anti-oxidant! It nourishes and hydrates your skin. This worked brilliantly for me. I hope it does for you too,” said Athiya in the caption of her DIY skincare reel.
Vitamin E is also considered to be an anti-inflammatory agent and therefore it soothes and nourishes the skin when applied topically. Vitamin E can heal sun damage and also treat acne and excessive dryness. It makes the skin silky smooth and is great for facial massages too.
In case I can’t always find the time to apply a vitamin E capsule on my skin like Athiya, I love moisturising with The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture.
Athiya’s Word Of Caution
Athiya did mention in the caption of her video that anyone who wants to try this hack should also consult a dermat or doctor first, but vitamin E in general is suited for all skin types and is super gentle on the skin. I too would recommend a patch test on your hand or a small area of your face before using this hack all over your visage.
A great way to use vitamin E straight from the capsule is like a mask treatment for 15 minutes and then washing it off with a hydrating cleanser like the PureSense Natural Papaya Face Wash.
I am definitely going to try out Athiya Shetty’s simple DIY skincare hack with vitamin E capsules. I can’t wait to reap all those glow-boosting benefits.
