After back-to-back news of Bollywood weddings including celebrated couples like Neha Dhupia – Angad Bedi, Anushka Sharma – Virat Kohli, Sonam Kapoor – Anand Ahuja and upcoming wedding of Ranveer Singh – Deepika Padukone, the news of Arjun Rampal and Mehr Jessia splitting after 20 years of their marriage is heartbreaking for many.
The couple got married in 1998. Actor Arjun Rampal and former Miss India and model Mehr have two daughters Mahikaa and Myra. In 2014, the rumours of Hrithik Roshan‘s ex-wife Sussanne Khan and Arjun Rampal being romantically involved were all over the news, although both Arjun and Hrithik Roshan denied the rumours. Another rumour about Arjun and wife Mehr being in an open relationship was also doing the rounds stating that they stuck together for the kids.
But now, the couple has put all speculations to rest and have mutually decided to part ways. As per reports by Bombay Times, the couple has issued a joint statement announcing separation:
“After a 20-year-long beautiful journey filled with love and beautiful memories, we would like to share, that all journeys have different paths. We feel that it is time for us to move on to different destinations henceforth. We have always been solid when it has come to us, we will continue to be solid for each other and our loved ones, as we embark upon a new journey…Both of us being extremely private people feel strange to be making this statement, but such are the circumstances of our lives. Where the truth can get distorted and lost. We are a family, our love for each other is forever intact and we shall always be there for one another and most importantly, for our children Mahikaa and Myra. We would therefore appreciate our privacy through this time. Thank all for their support. Relationships can end, but love lives on. We won’t be commenting on this any further.”
