Here’s Why I’m Replacing My Conditioner With The Arata Advanced Curl Care Curly Hair Cream

Indian curly hair can be…confusing. Tight curls are something very few people tend to have and most of us are in that sweet spot between wavy and curly. The Arata Advanced Curl Care Curly Hair Cream is one of those products that really caters to curly Indian hair needs.

What Is It?

The Arata Advanced Curl Care Curly Hair Cream is a post-shower curling cream that defines your curls while moisturising them. The formulation is vegan and includes ingredients like abyssinian seed oil, soya protein, shea butter, argan oil, and pelvetia canaliculata extract.

The cream is multifunctional and can also be used to smoothen flyaways and combat frizz. It has the consistency of a lightweight hair conditioner and works similarly to a gel. But instead of crunchy, defined curls you get soft, loose curls that you can run your hands through. While it is promoted as a curl definer, let me tell you that it doesn’t do just that – it also hydrates your curls leaving them smooth and glossy.

Our Thoughts

I really like this cream. Since my curls are not well-defined, a gel usually makes my hair immovable and rigid. I like softer curls that frame my face and this lightweight product is perfect for that kind of definition. One of the best things about this product is that it gets absorbed super quickly and does not feel oily to the touch like a few heavy conditioners I’ve tried. In fact, it works so well that when I’m in a hurry, I’ll skip conditioner and just use this to style my hair.

There are no cons to this product, per se but I’m not a big fan of the box since it’s hard to carry and I feel like I’m contaminating it every time I take a bit of product out. It’s a great pick if you’re new to the curly girl way of life since it makes for a good starting point into the life of high-maintenance hair!
