All You Need Is A Wand: The Anti-Mascara Trend Is Here To Level Up Your Eye Makeup

Okay, ladies, pay close attention now! Did you know there are different ways to use mascara? Well, we actually have yet another course to use mascara thanks to social media (Instagram mostly). Oh boy, our lives will never be the same!

Some of our favourite beauty influencers have been getting really creative while dishing up some very cool eye makeup looks with this “anti-mascara trend.” To be honest, this phenomenon has been causing some serious waves out there. In order to help you swish your wand like a pro, we’ve put our brains together and created the ultimate fail-proof eye makeup looks using mascara! Check ‘em out now.

What Does “Anti-Mascara Trend” Really Mean?

Gal pals, the “anti-mascara trend” is having a moment on the ‘Gram right now. This trend involves creating distinctive patterns and textures with the mascara wand while wearing it as an eyeliner or eyeshadow. This trend will push you hard to expand your limitations.

For example, the wand’s tip can be used to draw a line that is just barely defined, while the side bristles can be used to draw amusing dotted and textured patterns. You can also achieve a smokey eye by using a brush to smudge your mascara onto your eyes until you achieve a soft, smokey effect. This approach can transform your eye makeup into something very runway-worthy and artistic, particularly for an evening look. Divina Muse, a very famous TikTok beauty influencer, demonstrated how she applied her mascara to achieve grunge eye makeup looks.

Cop These 4 Anti-Mascara Eye Makeup That’s Runway-Approved

The Strange Doll Look By Lucia Pieroni

Instagram

This beauty aesthetic has received the approval of beauty influencers. This strange doll look is grabbing all the eyeballs. Clumps of mascara applied subtly under each eye and doll-like lashes are the focal point of this look. The makeup artist, Lucia Pieroni, dusted a wash of light-blue eye shadow on the lids to add her own spin. We’re going to cop this look because it screams grunge.

Divine Muse’s Eye Expressions

Simply take a look at Divine Muse’s anti-mascara compilation to see how she wears it in all its forms. She achieves her first look, a graphic winged liner, by dabbing the mascara wand tip over her lids to create a dappled effect. She then adds petal patterns, swirls, and flicked lines to two more eye expressions.

A Touch Of Drama By Serena Lakkiss

We also adore Instagrammer (also a famous beauty TikToker) Serena Lakkiss’s take on anti-mascara, in which she uses the wand to create a dramatic alternative to eyeshadow by just rolling it flat across her upper eyelid, all the way up to her eyebrow.

Huda Kattan’s Blue Fever

Even Huda Kattan, a powerhouse in the beauty industry, noticed the trend and tried it out for herself. She explains that removing some of her mascara and dabbing it into the crease of her eyelids is the trick. The thing here is that you want to get a decent mascara wand. Huda simply goes on to stamp the mascara on her eyelids in no special order. To be honest, I genuinely dig this. She added an electric blue mascara on top to complete the look.

Here’s hoping that cracked nails and uneven cuticles are next if runway fads continue to mirror the beauty blunders I already make.
