It has been over a decade since Ankita Lokhande won our hearts as Archana in Pavitra Rishta. And it is time to bring some trademark Ankita charm to the silver screen! The actress has bagged a deal with none other than Randeep Hooda for his directorial debut, Swatantra Veer Savarkar.
Ankita took to ‘Gram to share a gorgeous monochrome snap and the update with her 4 million followers. She captioned the post: “My first film as a lead #Swatantryaveersavarkar & I cannot wait to start this beautiful journey! This wouldn’t have been possible without you @officialssandipsingh. You have been my biggest support and the best friend one could ever ask for. Your journey has been commendable Producer Saab. Looking Back At Ankita’s Bollywood Journey
While this isn’t the first Bollywood film that Ankita will be a part of, this will be her first project as the lead actress. In 2018, she made her silver screen debut with Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and caught everyone’s attention.
In a previous interview, Ankita opened up on why she made her way to Bollywood. She shared, “Films are a larger medium and that is one of the reasons to switch. If we talk about content, then I think not only TV, but the web is also coming up with great content. So, for actors, I believe there should not be any boundaries.”
TBH, we are sure Ankita is going to kill it with her big Bollywood break. Here’s wishing her luck on her new journey!
