We honestly don’t remember the number of times we have watched the Gehraiyaan trailer and we already have its release date marked on the calendar. NGL, for us, Ananya Panday really stood out in the video and we were left impressed by her acting chops. Gehraiyaan explores the ideas of love, relationships, fidelity and so much more in our modern-day lives.
After watching the trailer for the millionth time, we got curious about Ananya’s take on relationships and finally, we have some answers. In a recent interview, the actress opened up on what is the biggest deal-breaker for her in a relationship. She said, “Personally, infidelity is a huge deal-breaker for me. But I have been listening to what everyone has been saying, and I guess it does totally depend on the situation.”
Well, we totally agree with Ananya here! Going behind your partner’s back and deceiving them is never okay. While there are all sorts of relationships in the world, the key is being honest about your boundaries.
Ananya also addressed the theme of infidelity in the film and said, “I honestly don’t think it’s (cheating) a modern issue. I feel like it’s a thing that has always existed in our society. Maybe, we are acknowledging it more now, maybe we are talking about it more now. I think it’s a start, a subject that we are addressing in cinema with Gehraiyaan. I feel like our film is different from other films that dealt with infidelity, because it’s not about finding your soul mate after marriage, it’s kind of just observing how four people are behaving in such a situation.”
NGL, we are curious about how the film will deal with this sensitive issue. From what we have gathered about the Gehraiyaan, Ananya’s character gets cheated on and she is left to figure things out.
When you get cheated on, it ruins your belief in the idea of love and relationships. We love the idea of Bollywood exploring such dark themes, and it’ll be interesting to see how they handle such a sensitive topic.
As for Ananya—we are proud of her for knowing what her boundaries are. ‘Coz TBH, that’s the most important thing in a relationship!
