In 2001, Gadar: Ek Prem Katha beautifully captured human perseverance amid the horrors of partition. Two decades later, fans are eagerly waiting for Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel starrer Gadar 2 to take the story forward. And while the movie’s remake looks promising, we hear the cast and crew members had some terrible experiences during their shoot days.
Ameesha Patel recently shared a series of tweets accusing Anil Sharma Productions of mismanagement and poor arrangements for the cast and crew while shooting for Gadar 2. The actress revealed that many technicians including make-up artists and costume designers did not receive appropriate remuneration from Anil Sharma Productions. The food bills of the actors were left unpaid and cars were not provided to some cast and crew members, which left them stranded. However, Ameesha credited Zee Studios for stepping in and making sure to send everyone home with happy faces. The company was respectable enough to clear everyone’s dues without any hassle. TBH, it takes a lot of courage to speak against the producers of your upcoming film and we’re glad Ameesha was gutsy enough to call the production house out for the right reasons. We hope the people in question learn a lesson and do better for their future projects!
More About Gadar 2!
The recently released teaser of Gadar 2 hints that the story picks from right where it ended in Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The film’s portrayal of the partition of India and its impact on people’s lives struck a chord with the audience. The first cut of Gadar 2 has already been locked and the film was recently screened for the Indian Army. The film even received a no-objection certificate from the Army. While a soulful rendition of Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava has been released by the makers, they will soon be launching the grand theatrical trailer of Gadar 2. The film will hit the big screens on August 11, 2023.
