Alia Bhatt never fails to amaze me with her beauty tips. In her most recent vlog, the celeb revealed her entire makeup routine and the best part about it was that she was doing her own makeup for a big event, no celebrity MUA involved.
It was exciting to see how Alia does her makeup but I was even more pumped when I found out how she does her base. She used a certain base makeup hack so casually like it was second nature to her.
What Is Alia Bhatt’s Hack For A Glowy Base?
Alia Bhatt was getting ready for the Gucci cruise event in Korea and she was responsible for doing her own hair and makeup. And the first thing she did after prepping her skin with a moisturiser was this hack. She mixed together a skin tint with a liquid highlighter and a face cream in the palm of her hands before applying it as a base.
“I have only one skin tint, which is a colour correcting coverage tint and I’ll mix that with this barrier restore cream by Rhode. And I’m going to add a drop of this highlighter which has got a little bit of a pink hue so I get that glowing base,” Alia said while pumping out the products in the palm of her hand. She then mixed all three products by rubbing it between her palms and then applied it on her face and neck with her hands.
Why Is Alia Bhatt’s Makeup Hack So Amazing?
It’s because it is the most lightweight base and it is extremely glowy. Alia Bhatt mixes a skin tint (which is not to be mistaken for a foundation), with another skincare barrier cream and a highlighter to get her glow on. This means her base is more skincare centric and glow-boosting and it evens out her skin tone beautifully. After doing this, all she does is apply concealer on her blemishes and dark circles and sets it with a translucent powder. The results are even toned skin that feels fresh and never looks cakey.
After applying this mixture to even out her skin tone, she used a concealer only on her blemishes and under eye area. The exact concealer she used is the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.
How To Follow Alia Bhatt’s Base Makeup Hack
Step 1: Prep your skin with a face mist and a moisturiser before applying any makeup. Ali spritzed her face with a mist and then applied a hydrating cream on her face and neck.
My favourite hydrating cream to use all year round is the Foxtale Ceramide Supercream Smoothening Moisturizer and it contains ceramides which is Alia’s favourite skincare ingredient.
Step 2: Pick a skin tint that is closest to your skin tone and pump it out in the palm of your hands.
Alia used the It Cosmetics Cc+ Cream Nude Glow Lightweight + Glow Serum.
Step 3: Add a pump of a barrier repair cream or a moisturiser and mix it with the skin tint.
The Rhode Barrier Restore Cream is what Alia used for this step.
Step 4: Add a drop of a pink toned liquid highlighter to the skin tint and cream. Now rub your palms together to mix all these products and then massage the mixture on your face and neck.
The pink liquid highlighter Alia picked for this hack is the Rare Beauty Positive Light Liquid Luminizer in shade Enchanted.
These steps are what Alia followed to get an event toned base. She then applied a concealer on her blemishes and under eyes and then set it with a translucent powder.
While Alia used a high-end concealer, I find the skincare-infused MyGlamm Super Serum Concealer to be a better fit for my blemish prone skin.
Alia Bhatt’s hack to get a glowy base is absolutely genius and every skin type is going to love this base makeup tip. Try it out and see the results for yourself.
