It’s going to take a while before we can stop obsessing over Alia Bhatt’s Met Gala debut. The actress left us all mesmerised as she walked the prestigious red carpet in a princess-like Prabal Gurung gown. The gown was doused with one lakh different types of pearls, and it definitely left us all swooning. Now, a behind-the-scenes video has been released where we can see Alia getting ready for her big moment and her reaction to it all!
The actress shared BTS footage from the Met Gala’s dressing room and NGL, you can almost sense the butterflies she must have had. Prabal Gurung took the actress, who had never seen the miraculous dress before, to the room with her eyes closed, and her reaction when she finally saw it was so relatable! Alia’s nerves are palpable throughout the video.
Alia reminded us of a little girl in Candyland as she prepared for the big moment. When a voice from the video was heard saying. “From Mumbai to Met,” the actress then jokingly said, “Cool, can somebody like lift me up now, and place me on the carpet from here?”

As Alia rightly mentioned in the video, the Met Gala is one of the most significant events of the year globally, and we can totally understand why she felt a “little wobble on her knees” as soon as she got out of the sprinter van. The actress also admitted being terrified as she felt it “would not be nice because of her big dress and high heels.” However, when she walked the red carpet, we can all agree that we saw no signs of wobbly knees but only grace and glamm!
This is proof that it takes a lot of guts and confidence to walk the coveted red carpet, and it only makes us prouder of Alia Bhatt for walking it so effortlessly for the first time (definitely not her last).
