SS Rajamouli’s RRR is creating a major buzz in the country right now and we’re not surprised. Ever since we saw the trailer of the movie, we knew that it was going to be epic. And, epic it is! The film dropped in theatres on March 25 and its Hindi version has already collected more INR 90 crores at the box office. It stars Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the leading roles and marks the debut of Alia Bhatt in the Telugu film industry. She plays the character of Sita, Ram’s fiancée and cousin. While the actress’s cameo is short and brief, it’s quite impactful and will leave you in awe. The viewers are already loving her in the song Sholay, and think that she has done a fab job.
But, it seems that Alia is not happy with her screen time and is disappointed with the director. While she has not made an official statement as of now, her social media activities have got her fans worried.
As per the latest buzz, Alia had unfollowed Rajamouli on her social media handles for a short while. Apparently, she has also removed posts on her ‘Gram related to RRR. Interestingly, the actress actively participated in the promotion of the movie before it got postponed, but during the second leg, she went MIA.
TBH, while Alia played a pivotal role in the film, we wanted to see more of her character. She is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood right now and impressed the audience recently with her movie Gangubai Kathiawadi. Given her stardom and fan-following, it makes little sense for her to have such a short screen time in a blockbuster film like RRR.
Another reason why Alia is not actively promoting RRR on her social media handles can be the fact that she’s quite busy with her other projects. The actress has recently wrapped up the shooting of her upcoming movie with Ranbir Kapoor, Brahmastra. She shared a series of pics on her ‘Gram, where she can be seen with her beau and director Ayan Mukerjee at Kashi Vishwanath Mandir, Varanasi.
While Alia had a brief cameo in RRR, it was quite pivotal and what the script required. We’re pretty sure that she’s going to dazzle us next in Brahmastra that’s releasing on September 9.
