Stardom is a double-edged sword, on the one hand you get love from millions of fans, but you also get trolled for simply living your life. Recently, Alia Bhatt was bashed for announcing her pregnancy and we were left outraged. Since then, the actress has kept mum on the subject but finally, she decided to give it back to the trolls.
In an interview, Alia said, “Everything a woman does is put in the headlines. Whether she has decided to become a mother, she is dating somebody new; she is going to a cricket match or on holiday. For some reason, the eyeballs are always on women’s choices. Of course, I am young, but why does that have to change anything?”
The Highway star added, “Why does having a family or a child have to change my professional life? They are two completely different things. I would continue to and prefer to lead by example and action as opposed to giving any attention to nonsensical things. To me, the people having those opinions show where they are in life. It doesn’t say anything about where I am.”
Kudos to Alia for pointing out the hypocrisy of our society! A woman is constantly questioned about her choices—getting married, not getting married, being pregnant, choosing not to have kids, every single choice is questioned and judged. More often than not, social media bullies pretend to be ‘holier than thou’ when it comes to Bollywood stars and they forget every individual out has the choice to live their lives as they please.
We are proud of how Alia is in no mood to give a hoot about the trolls as she is too busy living her best life. With a number of interesting projects in her kitty and her Hollywood debut on the cards, she is killing it!
So trolls, do yourselves a favour and focus on your lives instead of telling others what to do. Meanwhile, we are going to watch Alia slaying it as the coolest mom-to-be!
