B-town celebs are no strangers to the scrutiny of the public eye. Incessant trolling and social media hate are part of their lives, especially if they happen to be star kids. And while most have learnt to ignore these trolls, once in a while someone decides to call them out.
Recently, Alia Bhatt did something similar when she opened up about the trolls who unnecessarily target her for her last name. She said, “I believed the only way I could shut the conversation down is through my movies. So, don’t respond, don’t feel bad. Of course, I felt bad. But feeling bad is a small price to pay for the work that you are respected and loved for. I delivered a film like Gangubai. So, who’s having the last laugh? At least until I deliver my next flop? For now, I am laughing!”
Alia also spoke about how people should stop watching her work if they do not like it. “I can’t keep defending myself verbally. And if you don’t like me, don’t watch me. I can’t help it. That’s something I can’t do [anything about]. People have something to say. Hopefully, I will prove to them with my movies that I am actually worth the space I occupy,” the Gangubai actress added.
Well, we do not condone trolling in any form and can understand where Alia is coming from. The actress has a long list of stellar movies attached to her name but trolls conveniently keep overlooking that. Credit should be given where it is due and it is high time trolls start looking at the full picture before launching a hate spree on social media. It would be great for their own peace of mind as well!
