Just when we thought we were done with celebrity weddings, here comes another one! Last evening, on March 24, Akash Ambani got engaged to girlfriend Shloka Mehta in a private ceremony in Goa. The engagement was only attended by close family members from both sides and was, as we can judge from the pictures, a beautiful affair at that!
Akash Ambani, 25, is the eldest son of Mukesh Ambani and Shloka Mehta is the daughter of famous diamantaire, Russel Mehta, the owner of Rosy Blue Diamonds which is regarded as one of the leading diamond trading companies. Akash and Shloka were students at the Dhirubhai Ambani International School in Mumbai and have been close friends for years now!
While Akash is on the board of directors of Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail, Shloka is an accomplished young woman too! Shloka, the alumni of Princeton University and London School of Economics, is not only a director in the family-run diamond company but is also a co-founder of ConnectFor. ConnectFor is a platform to help people who want to volunteer in Mumbai by connecting them to the NGO that needs their time and skills.
