There are a few things that we like as much as a good-ol’ Bollywood love story. The real-life story of our B-Town stars is surely one of them. The real really trumps the reel, right? There is something absolutely magical about two actors hitting it off on sets and the whirlwind romance that follows. Well, all the more exciting when these actors decide to go all in and get married.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan happen to be one of them and they have been giving us some serious #CoupleGoals. Now while we have already heard that it was love at first sight for Abhishek, the actor recently opened up about how all of it transpired. The two met for the very first time in Switzerland, the most romantic of the places imaginable.
But wait there’s more. Abhishek shared all the deets about their love story in a recent interview and we have got all the scoop for you. Speaking about his first meeting with Aishwarya, he shared “I first met her when I was a production boy. There was a film my father was making called Mrityudata, and I had gone for the location recce to Switzerland because the company felt that because I had grown up in Switzerland in boarding school that I would be able to take them to nice locations.”
He further added, “I had been there for a couple of days, all alone. And that’s when a childhood friend of mine, Bobby Deol, was shooting for his first film–Aur Pyar Ho Gaya. And he got to know I was there and said ‘Hey, why don’t you come over for dinner?’ And that’s the first time, when they were shooting when I met Aishwarya.”
By the time Abhishek started his acting career, he and Aish had already become good friends. Then things started getting serious when both of them signed Dhai Akshar Prem Ke and began shooting for the film. When asked if he had already started crushing on the actress by them, Abhishek very adorably answered: “Who doesn’t crush on her? I mean, come on, come on.”
Well, the rest as we know is history. Post that the couple worked together on a number of projects including Guru, Raavan, Sarkar Raaj, Umrao Jaan, and Dhoom 2. They finally tied the knot in 2007 and celebrated their 14th anniversary just a couple of days ago.
Well, 14 years of marriage and Abhishek is still talking about Aishwraya like he never stopped crushing on her. Not gonna lie, we are a little jealous!
