Taapsee Pannu, the Bollywood actress who rose to fame with her role in Baby, in which she played a spy alongside Akshay Kumar has been on a high since. From Manmarziyaan to Badla, Pink and Mission Mangal, the actress has had a string of successful films to highlight her career.
However, in a recent interview, the actress revealed that she misses out on basic activities because of her popularity and her family gets affected by the same as well. “I was born and brought up in Delhi so it’s still my ‘adda’ but you can’t just walk out and go around anymore,” Taapsee told a leading newspaper.
“Not just I, but even those with me get bothered. Of course, I love the fact that people really love me and that is what we work for. But sometimes that line is blurred, and you don’t get enough space. People still don’t understand that no means no. It is bothersome when my family gets affected,” the actress said, addressing that her family is still not used to dealing with her stardom.
She added that she has told her family to put their foot down on various occasions but they try to be understanding, “I tell my family to put their foot down and say no but they can’t. They even try to be more understanding towards people but they are of a certain age now… They can’t keep up as I do. I am the first person in my family who is a public figure. They are still trying to wrap their heads around this and understand how to deal with it.”
In the interview, the actress also spoke about the little things in life that she enjoys but can’t do in India, like shopping! “I would love to walk into the mall and shop but it doesn’t happen anymore. That’s why I shop outside the country from high street brands. It’s not like I go there to shop for a certain brand but the fact that I can’t walk into a mall and try on clothes here, I do it outside the country,” she told the newspaper.
Taapsee recently revealed that she is in a relationship and no he is not an actor or a cricketer! Instead, rumours suggest that the actress is dating Olympic silver medallist, Badminton player Mathias Boe. The two have been seen together on various occasions and the actress’ sister, Shagun revealed that the two met because of her.
On the profession front, Taapsee will be playing the character of sharpshooter Prakashi Tomar in Tushar Hiranandani’s biographical drama Saand Ki Aankh alongside Bhumi Pednekar, who will be essaying the role of Prakashi’s sister-in-law and fellow sharpshooter, Chandro Tomar. The film is all set to release on October 25th.
