Whenever I think of summer, (apart from the horrid humidity and heat), I instantly think of bright, pastel lip colours. While some of us may not be into changing out outfit colours as much, lip colours are a different ball game. As a lip colour junkie, I have compiled some summer shades and finishes that you should add to cart to beat summer blues. Snapping a selfie with your coconut water or lemonade wouldn’t look as good as it would with these lip colours!
1. Maybelline New York Color Sensational Inti-Matte Nudes Lipstick – Smitten
This peach nude in a creamy matte finish should definitely be your pick for the season. Brunch date or summer wedding, this versatile shade would see you through everything. For added oomph, just top it off with some gloss!

2. Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick – Showgirl
This cool-toned pink shade is the ideal match for your sundress in my opinion. A day out with the girls would be incomplete without this lip colour and the best part? No touch ups!

3. Nicka K True Matte Lip Color – Hopbush
I know this is another matte lippie, but there are 2 things I love about matte lipsticks during the summer. One, they do not melt off or get smudged and two you could use it as a stain as well! This shade, in particular, is the freshest form of purple/violet. Either slather it on or use it as a lilac lip stain.

4. L’Oreal Paris CC Genius Balm Caresse – 707 Runway Orange
If you feel like matte is too much, and maybe a little to dehydrating on your lips. This is what you need. This one is a lip balm, gloss and lip stain in one. It gives you a slight sheen with a good colour payoff while moisturising your pout.

5. Lakme Enrich Satin Lip Color – P143
Some days you need to brighten things up yourself, even if the sun IS shining bright. This bright coral pink is my favourite shade on the days when the sun has got me feeling the blues. The satin finish ensures that my lips feel hydrated.

6. MyGlamm COLOUR FUSION – BEAUTY SHOT
This duo is a one product wonder. It has a lipstick and gloss on either side of the tube, so basically this in your pocket or sling and it will be all you need. This one has an aubergine purple lipstick on one side and pastel rose gloss on the other.

7. Bobbi Brown High Shimmer Lip Gloss – Pastel
I couldn’t end this list without adding a gloss to the mix. Of course, you could use any gloss by itself or top your lipstick up with, BUT this gloss is one of my personal favourites. By itself, or with your favourite lip colour, it gives a rose sheen to everything.
