If you notice, the skin on our nose is different in texture from the rest of our face. You also tend to sweat more on your nose, and that makes it oilier than the rest of your face. It is also the most susceptible to both blackheads and whiteheads. Blame dead cell buildup, sun exposure and even the irregularity in pore sizes throughout your face. While having a rough, coarse nose isn’t an uncommon problem, it’s not something you can’t fix.
We have curated a list of must-dos that can help you achieve a nose that’s as smooth as the rest of your face.
Try hot and cold therapy at night
Before you sleep, steam your face with a steamer or simply add hot water into a pan if you don’t have a steamer. This technique targets the pores on your nose and any helps draw out any dirt that’s filled in them. Once your skin is soft and your pores are open, use nose peels to remove dirt, blackheads, and whiteheads from your nose. If you have deep-rooted gunk, you can use a comedone extractor to help you clean areas that are hard to reach. Once you’re done, wash your face with cold water or apply ice so as to soothe and close your pores. Don’t skip this step as the benefits of using ice and cold water are actually helpful!
Never underestimate exfoliation
More often than not, your nose feels rough due to a build-up of dead skin cells. The solution? A thing as simple as exfoliation. However, make sure that your scrub is not too harsh for your skin. If you use one that’s too abrasive, you can end up with micro-tears on your skin. Use it once or twice a week is enough. Don’t over-exfoliate, it can cause irritation or worse, leave your pores open, thereby causing you to break out.
