If I could get my hands on a time machine, the first thing I’ll do is revisit every Holi celebration from my childhood. Yes, I am that big of a Holi fan and it has always been my favourite festival. Even as an adult, I find it hard to resist the fun and extravaganza that accompany this festival. With Holi right around the corner, I can’t contain my excitement now. I am constantly thinking about the celebrations and have a list of things that I cannot wait for. Are you a part of the Holi fandom as well? Scroll through for my Holi list that you are sure to relate with:
Picking The Perfect Look For The Day
What most people don’t realise is that it can be a task to pick the perfect Holi outfit. You can’t go OTT like Diwali but at the same time, you want to look effortlessly gorgeous. Guess what? I have finally cracked the code for the perfect Holi look— there’s no going wrong with a plain white t-shirt and old denim. Works for everyone and is easy to pull off!
P.S even our beloved Bollywood stars love this look.
Cracking The Perfect Bhang Recipe
Before you get ready for the big day, it is supremely important to get the best bhang dish sorted. Most of the Holi bashes are all about the thandai and you gotta prep for it days in advance. With ample thandai and bhang in stock, I am all set to be the best host this year. What about you?
Two Words: Holi Snacks
Let’s be real, no Holi celebration is complete without delicious snacks. It is that time of the year when everyone forgets about their diet plans and goes ahead for the second helping (or third, or fourth…) of gujiyas, dahi bhallas, malpuas, and a lot more. I have never been immune to the Holi-binge and I plan to go all out on hogging this year as well.
Vibing To The Holi Songs
I think everyone will admit to the fact that the Holi playlist has to be an absolute banger. From peppy tracks like Balam Pichkari to iconic numbers like Ang Se Ang Lagana, everything about this playlist needs to scream fun and frolic. Also, even if you don’t like to get down and dirty on Holi, you can still vibe to good music.
Meeting Your Long Lost Dosts & Ristedaars
Holi is the day to forget all grudges and get into the ‘bura naa mano‘ mood. As a child, meeting my friends and cousins was my fondest Holi activity. Even now this festival is the perfect excuse to catch up with old friends. People who love this festival will surely know what it means to get into the ‘happy Holi’ vibe and enjoying the day with loved ones.
Picking The Most Vibrant Colour Combinations
From wacky colours like gold and silver to more traditional ones like pink and red, every Holi lover knows the importance of stocking up. Here’s a pro tip for Holi 2022— make natural Holi colours with your friends and family. This is the perfect excuse for a pre-Holi get together that will prove to be good for both environment and you.
Hoarding Water Balloons
I saved the best one for the last. Can it ever be Holi without a mention of water balloons? Holi is the best day to bring out your inner Arjun and practice the perfect shot. Isn’t getting into balloon fights with your friends the best part of this festival?
NGL, I can’t wait to launch a water balloon attack on my friends this Holi. What about you?
