Well-written movies and TV shows take us on a rollercoaster of emotions from deep despair to too miuch happiness. However, when a scene doesn’t resonate with the audience, it can also turn out to be a disaster. Sometimes, moments that are intended to make us laugh, struggle to even get a smile. And other times, parts that are meant to be dramatic, leave us chuckling out loud. Especially when it comes to the death of a character, it can be either hella heartbreaking or just plain stupid.
So, while there are plenty of Indian shows and films that have aced the part where a beloved character’s life comes to an end, there are also many that clearly have not. So brace yourselves, as we’ve listed out five death scenes from Indian movies and TV shows that will have you gasping for air.

Deshdrohi
If you’re ever in need of a good laugh, we suggest playing this film on loop. It has all the elements that will make you LOL, including hilarious fight scenes, no-logic dialogues, and physics-defying fights. But if there’s one moment that will leave you in splits, it is when Kamaal R. Khan, who plays the protagonist in the film, gets shot. Not only does he moan with pain much after the bullet hits him, but he also manages to ask the killer a question or two before he falls to his death. Like, seriously guys. Was this not meant to be a comedy film?

Chandralekha
This celebrated Tamil TV show shoots logic in the head and quite literally. In one of the bizarre episodes of this daily soap, we can see that a woman is shot by a sniper and the bullet goes right through her head. Despite the bullet wound that should’ve taken her life, the woman is seen conversing with her husband for over five minutes and asks him to tie flowers in her hair. But this is not where the nightmare ends. The woman also watches a clip on her phone while she’s fighting for her life! Matlab, kuch bhi?

Deedar-E-Yaar
If there’s a death in Bollywood films that will leave you perplexed, it’s this one. Rekha who plays Husna Bai in the film is dancing when suddenly she takes a knife and stabs herself with it. We’re all left wondering why she does that? And more importantly, who kills themselves that way?
Thangappathakkam
Would you believe us if we told you that a father kills his son and then sings “Twinkle twinkle little star” while clutching his son’s dead body? Well, after watching this Tamil film, you will just have to. In this absolutely weird scene, the father is shot but not before he takes his revenge and fires a bullet back at his son. If this wasn’t stupid enough, the son falls over a cliff and rolls back towards his father’s feet (Don’t ask us, we don’t know how this happened). The father is seen weeping while he holds his son. And to show his anguish, he sings the nursery rhyme!
Hrudaya Kaleyam
Does it count as a death scene if the dead character comes back to life and walks out of his funeral pyre? Well, we’re counting it anyway. And guess what, this is not the most WTF thing that happens in this Telugu film. Apart from the protagonist dying and coming back to life, there is also the most unbelievable heart transplant surgery. The actor throws a beating heart that he’s holding for some apparent reason, into a hospital. And the heart somehow lands inside the body of a “dying” woman. Well, RIP logic.
