Neetu Kapoor is a fierce mama bear when it comes to her son Ranbir Kapoor. She has always been invested in the actor’s personal life and has had strong opinions on his dating choices. Just recently, she shared a cryptic quote on Instagram. It read, “Just because he dated you for 7 years, it doesn’t mean he will marry you. My uncle studied medicine for 6 years, now he is a DJ.” Many claimed that it was an indirect jibe at Katrina and Ranbir’s relationship. During an appearance on Simi Garewal’s chat show India’s Most Desirable, Neetu talked about Ranbir and Deepika’s relationship. She said, “I don’t think he’s had many girlfriends. He’s had just one girlfriend and that’s Deepika. I think maybe there was something missing in their relationship. There was something not there. Maybe he was not himself and he needed to break off. Everybody has relationships and they move on.”
Neetu added that if the relationship was perfect, they wouldn’t have broken up.”Ranbir was probably not himself in the relationship,” she said.
When She Broke Silence About Katrina & Ranbir’s Breakup
During Ranbir and Katrina Kaif’s relationship, Neetu was reportedly not happy. In fact, the veteran actress once posted a family picture image on Instagram but cropped Kat. Following Ranbir and Katrina’s break, in an interview, Neetu said, “Everyone has their own life. I cannot say anything.”
“Don’t Get Too Serious”
Without naming anyone, Neetu Kapoor once shared how she was not okay with Ranbir’s first relationship. In an interaction with a leading daily, she said, “The first time he (Ranbir Kapoor) felt involved, I knew the girl was not right for him. But when I told him, he rebelled.” Neetu added that she told him to not get serious so soon. Eventually, the relationship fell apart.
“Alia Is A Lovely Person”
Out of all Ranbir’s relationships, Neetu has been the happiest with his wife Alia Bhatt. In an interview with a digital platform after #Ralia wedding, she shared, “She is a beautiful, simple, uncorrupted human being. So, I feel the relationship between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law is the husband’s fault. Because you love your mother so much, and jab tum joru ka ghulam ban jaate ho na, fir maa ko problem hoti hai (if a husband only listens to the wife, then only his mom has a problem).”
