4 DIYs To Tame Frizzy Hair This Monsoon

If frizzy hair is your worst nightmare, I got something for you. Considering how the monsoon season is almost here, it’s so humid that my curly hair is puffing up and I’m sure all of you with even slightly wavy hair now have frizz too.

But I’m not going to stay calm because we don’t need more bad hair days! So since my hair needs some extra care to combat frizz this season, these frizz-defying DIYs are what I’m relying on to get the job done.

Hibiscus Flower Hair Spa

Hibiscus flowers are great for conditioning the hair and boosting shine and smoothness by making the strands strong. Grind a bunch of hibiscus flowers to form a paste and then add two spoons of honey and mix to form the deep conditioning hair mask. Apply the mask on your hair 20 minutes before a hair wash and watch how it smoothes your hair.

For best results, I like to wash off this DIY hair mask with the MyGlamm SUPERFOODS Passion Fruit & Rosemary Shampoo.

DIY Hair Serum

Having a hair serum on hand at all times is ideal and this DIY hair serum ensures it smoothes out frizz instantly with every application. To make it, mix 3 tablespoons each of aloe vera gel and rose water with a tablespoon of coconut oil and transfer the mixture to a recycled hair serum bottle. Apply this after a hair wash or whenever your hair looks frizzy.

For times when I need to smoothen my frizz and heat style my hair, I swear by the St. Botanica Moroccan Argan Hair Serum.

DIY Frizzy Hair Conditioner

If you want to deep conditioner your hair in the shower to combat frizz, this easy DIY hair conditioner recipe is for you. Add a cup of cooked rice, 4 tablespoons of coconut oil and a splash of water to a blender and blend until it forms a paste. Take out this paste in a bowl and stir in a pump of regular hair conditioner to make it more creamy. Apply this paste on your hair lengths after shampooing and rinse it off after 10 minutes.

Aside from using this DIY conditioner, I also use a deep conditioning hair conditioner like the Organic Harvest Organic Moisturising Conditioner – Curly Hair on other hair wash days.

Homemade Hair Gel

A hair gel made of natural ingredients is the best thing for frizzy hair in the monsoon season. Boil 2 tablespoons of flaxseed in 300 ml water and stir occasionally for 15 minutes. Let the flaxseed water cool for half an hour. Strain the flaxseed water with a cheesecloth and transfer the gel to a jar and store in the fridge. Apply this gel to damp hair right after a hair wash to banish frizz.

If you can’t find the time to make your own flaxseed hair gel, try the Fix My Curls Curl Quenching Flax Seed Gelly.

Give these DIYs a shot if you want to fight frizz effectively this monsoon.
