Instead of revelling in an extravagant bash, Janhvi Kapoor chose to celebrate her 22nd birthday with her family. The actress took a break from her shoot a day before her birthday and travelled to Varanasi with father Boney Kapoor and sister Khushi Kapoor to visit the Kashi Vishwanath temple and participate in the Ganga aarti.
Boney Kapoor organised a small celebration at the hotel they were staying at. It was a low-key affair – Janhvi cut her birthday cake with a sword while the family cheered on.

Before the celebrations began, Janhvi, along with her father and sister, visited the ghats and also went for a boat ride. The trio bonded through the day and seemed to be enjoying the scenic beauty of Varanasi. What’s better than getting some family time on your birthday?
It was Janhvi’s earnest desire to visit Tirupati on her special day, where her mother, late Sridevi Kapoor, celebrated her birthday every year. The actress said, “I wanted to visit Tirupati again. Mom used to climb up to the temple every year for her birthday when she was working. I went there earlier this year and wanted to go again on my birthday, but arrangements couldn’t be made on time. I might go next week.”
Janhvi further disclosed her birthday plans and spoke about how she prioritises work over everything. She stated, “There’s no better place for me in the world than a film set. My only wish is that I get the chance to do good work and make my parents proud.”

Earlier in the day, the actress posted a picture of herself on Instagram, in which she is overlooking the Ganga ghat, to express her gratitude to family, friends and all those who wished her on her birthday. Her caption read, “Thankful & grateful. For all your love and blessings. For every opportunity. For my family. For my country. Love you all!”

On the work front, Janhvi is currently working in Lucknow on Kargil Girl, a biopic film based on the life of Gunjan Saxena, India’s first ever woman combat pilot. Angad Bedi and Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen in prominent roles in the movie. The actress would also be working in Karan Johar’s multi-starrer Takht, featuring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar.
