Happy endings and fairytale romances–there is no doubt that Bollywood movies have raised our expectations of what love stories should look like. But every once in a while, we come across a real-life saga so full of romance and drama, it reinstates our belief that love always finds a way. We recently chanced upon a similar real-life story, and it seems straight out of a Bollywood movie, trust us! 

A Twitter user, Julie Kalman, narrated how she tracked down the man who loved her late mother in their teenage years, and it is the most heartwarming story that you’ll read today.

In a series of tweets, Julie explained that she came to know about the man, who is now 89-years-old, through some letters that her mother had been saving. She wrote, “Today I found the man who was in love with my mother when they were teenagers. She kept his letters all her life. He is 89; when he heard I was looking for him and why, he burst into tears.”

Now if that isn’t true love, what is?

Talking further about their relationship, Julie said that her mother and the man knew each other from Brussels. While they moved to different places, they kept in touch and wrote each other a tonne of romantic letters.

“They knew each other in Brussels, after the war. Then she emigrated to Melbourne, he to Montreal. In 1952 he took a boat to Australia to see her. He wrote dozens of love letters, and we found them, going through my mum’s things after she died,” wrote, Julie.
