Why Are Shalin Bhanot & Gautam Vig Treating Tina Datta & Soundarya Sharma Like Each Other’s Property?

In the past weeks, we have witnessed some beautiful friendships blossoming in the Bigg Boss 16 house. MC Stan and Gori Nagori can fight for each other. Gautam Vig and Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia are keeping each other sane. And Shiv Thakre and Abdu Rozik are like brothers now.  However, there is a weird dosti that we haven’t been able to decode. We are, of course, talking about Shalin Bhanot and Gautam Vig. In almost every episode, they tease each other, end up fighting, and finally making up. This would have been frankly alright if they weren’t dragging Soundarya Sharma and Tina Datta into the drama. ‘Coz from where we see it both the women are ending up as collateral damage. The worst part? They are equally to blame! 

Bad Idea!

All of it started earlier this week after Shalin told Tina he needed to tell Sumbul Touqeer he wasn’t interested in her. Instead of advising him to talk to Sumbul directly, Tina had the worst idea. She suggested Shalin flirt with someone else in the house. This is when he started flirting with Soundarya and helping her during the workout. Tina added fuel to the fire and asked Soundarya to give him a kiss in exchange. She listened to the Uttaran actress and Gautam, who clearly has feelings for her, did not like any of it. He told Shalin about his problem and instead of accepting his mistake, the Naagin actor threw Tina under the bus. 

It didn’t stop just there. Two episodes later, we saw Gautam flirting with Tina right after Shalin shared he had feelings for her. She couldn’t say anything ‘coz it was her idea in the first place.

Where’s The Line?

In last night’s episode, we saw Shalin suddenly kissing Soundarya without asking for her consent. Gautam, of course, did not like it and called the act “cheap”. Meanwhile, he also got mad at Soundarya for letting the Naagin actor behave that way. He snapped and misbehaved with her in front of everyone. Later, we saw Tina sitting with Shalin and asking why he was getting protective of Soundarya and trying to defend her in front of Gautam. “Let him call her whatever he wants to,” was her brilliant advice. Seriously, what’s wrong with Tina? Why doesn’t she give a damn about how all the women around her are being treated by Shalin?

Also, why are Shalin and Gautam treating these women like each other’s property and “using” them to irritate one another? How is forcibly kissing Soundarya a smart way to get even with Gautam? Does it even make sense? So much for all that “maturity” that Shalin keeps talking about. Maybe he has to constantly remind everyone about his age ‘coz he can’t act like it!

It’s clear that the women of Bigg Boss 16 house need to take a stand to end Shalin and Gautam’s mean games. Sadly, they are too self-absorbed to even think about it. Here’s hoping someone shows them the mirror real soon!
