On August 8, 2024, Shobita Dhulipala and Naga Chaitanya hosted an intimate engagement ceremony, which was officially announced by Naga’s father on social media. In his post, he shared, “We are delighted to announce the engagement of our son, Naga Chaitanya, to Sobhita Dhulipala, which took place this morning at 9:42 a.m. We are overjoyed to welcome her into our family. Congratulations to the happy couple! Wishing them a lifetime of love and happiness. God bless! 8.8.8 – A beginning of infinite love.” This announcement hinted at what was to come: their stunning wedding.
Shortly after the engagement, Shobita participated in a traditional pre-wedding ritual called Pasupu Dhanchadam, a ceremony in which women of the family grind turmeric in a traditional style, as per Telugu customs. This signaled that the wedding was certain to happen soon, and indeed, the details of their upcoming nuptials have since come to light.
Reports suggest that Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala are set to marry on December 4, 2024, in Hyderabad. The couple has opted for a private affair, with only close family and friends in attendance, foregoing a grand celebration. Some sources have speculated that they may host a destination wedding in Jaipur, while others indicate that the ceremony could take place at Annapurna Studios, the family-owned studio established by Naga’s grandfather, the legendary Akkineni Nageswara Rao, in 1976. A special mandap is said to be constructed inside the studio for the wedding, adding to its significance as a cherished family venue.
For the unversed, Annapurna Studios, located on a 22-acre site in Banjara Hills, has a deep connection to Naga Chaitanya and his family, making it a meaningful choice for the couple’s upcoming wedding.
Can’t wait for the wedding pictures! We are sure it’s gonna be a treat to our eyes.
