Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma’s wedding in 2017 definitely came as a sweet surprise for their fans. The pictures of the ceremony were captivating and still make our hearts flutter. Then in Feb 2023, Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani broke the internet with their beautiful Jaisalmer shaadi. While both weddings were dreamy in themselves, there was one particular thing that took ’em up a notch. Any guesses?
Well, both the celeb couples used singer Jasleen Royal’s compositions, Din Shagna Da and Ranjha, for their wedding video. The songs instantly added a magical touch and made everyone’s hearts skip a beat. Din Shagna Da was used by Anushka and Virat and was originally composed for Anushka’s 2017 movie Phillauri. Whereas Sidharth and Kiara used a rendition of Ranjha that was composed for their movie Shershaah.
Now recently, Jasleen revealed that the whole experience felt surreal and she felt happy to be part of their special day. In an interview with a leading portal, Jasleen shared, “It feels like a big achievement as a songwriter that your song has more meaning to the people you worked with apart from the films. It’s not just a film song for them but becomes an emotion in real life.”
She further added, “When Viart and Anushka got married ‘Din Shagna Da’ and when Sid-Kiara got married ‘Ranjha’ were used. It’s obviously a very special feeling. You feel happy being a part of someone’s special day. It’s a big moment for the couple and if they choose the songs it’s always a good feeling.”
Well, we gotta agree with Jasleen, having big celebrities use your composition for their special day does feel like a big achievement. And to see your magical song come to life is definitely like a dream come true.
