The couple got married only this Monday and it has catapulted into a nationwide frenzy. From their wedding outfits to the videos; fans can’t seem to get enough of Virat and Anushka. And who would complain, really? The Virushka wedding is what every dream destination, or even a simple Indian Punjabi, wedding is made of.
Adding to that is the fact that the couple did it in a sort of elope-y way that included their families, close friends and wedding planners. So, the media and many Bollywood biggies really did miss out. Case in point: All the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out, for those who don’t know) that’s been doing rounds on social media ever since news of Virat and Anushka’s wedding broke.
And amidst all the wishes on Twitter, incessant posting on Instagram and media companies and websites clobbering to be the ones who break the news, there were others – the more creative ones – who showed their love and elation for the couple through their artwork.
One of the first one was by Sudarsan Pattnaik, a popular sand artist in Odisha, who turned his love and admiration for the couple into a beautiful sand sculpture at the Puri Beach, in Odisha. He even took to Twitter to share his hard work and Anushka Sharma herself, was quick to reply to him with gratitude!
Here’s the sand art sculpture by Sudarsan:
And here’s Anushka’s response to the artist:
Thereafter, many more such illustrations started surfacing online and while we might be getting over the wedding craze itself, we’re still not over some of these art illustrations and sketches.
Take a look for yourself!
This caricature in a frame is beautiful!
And this illustration by artist Samadrita Hazarika, inspired the Sabyasachi wedding outfits…
Artist Mou Nazia converted her love into this art illustration that is available for sale on phone cases, too!
And this beautiful greyscale sketch of the couple from their Manyavar TVC is hard to look away from!
Artist and Doodler, Girija Sarfare had a rather interesting take on Virushka in this pencil doodle she created…
And we’re thoroughly enjoying this piece of work done by Prasad Bhat of Graphicurry!
We wonder what you would make of this animated digital illustration?
Could you really blame us for being in love with this pencil sketch of Virushka during their wedding ceremony at the mandap? No, right?
And this one by an artist called Naseeba, just collectively stole all of our beating hearts! So much brilliance in one piece of art!
Until we have more news of the ‘It’ couple of the year doing more ‘It’ things, we’ll feast our eyes on this art work; as should you.
Alternatively, if you come across some more artwork on Virushka that you think really needs to be on this list, why don’t you send it across to us?
We can’t wait to see more!
