Angels Return To The Runway With Victoria’s Secret After Five Years & It Was Iconic

Glitz, glam, and wings in galore….Victoria’s Secret made a highly anticipated return to the runway after a five-year hiatus, and it was pure nostalgia. Bringing back the iconic angels, the show featured a mix of familiar and fresh faces and a nod to inclusivity. The last show was held in 2018, but this time, Victoria’s Secret delivered something new and different.

The show, held in New York City, kicked off with supermodel Gigi Hadid, who strutted down the runway in a pink silk teddy with matching feathers. Marking her comeback after nearly 20 years, iconic model Tyra Banks closed the show in a striking black and silver ensemble. Victoria’s Secret also followed through on its promise of inclusivity by having Paloma Elsesser as the first plus-sized model to walk the runway. Additionally, Valentina Sampaio and Alex Consani became the first transgender women to participate in the show. Other iconic angels, including Bella Hadid, Candice Swanepoel, Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Kate Moss, Ashley Graham, Barbara Palvin, among others, also graced the runway.

Cher headlined the show alongside performers Tyla and Lisa from BLACKPINK. Additionally, designer Joseph Altuzarra was introduced as the brand’s “designer-in-residence,”

While VS tried to successfully blend its legendary glamour with a fresh, more inclusive approach, it just got us thinking, was this enough? The brand is all about selling fantasies and it does it successfully. But this time the show lacked the charm and the outrageousness that we are used to.
