Dear Karan, It’s Time To Invite More Veteran Actors Because It’s A Delight To Watch Them
Koffee With Karan has offered the audience some brilliant pairings over the years- be it a married couple, an alleged couple or just two co-stars. While this has often resulted in some interesting conversations, something was missing on the couch and we have finally figured it out.
It was the sheer absence of veteran actors and the throwback stories they bring with them.
Of course, there have been some legendary actors on the couch in the initial seasons of the show. However, in the last few ones, the show and its guestlist have been all about young celebrities and their career.
Don’t get me wrong, we thoroughly enjoyed the episodes with these new-age actors, but there’s something about the veteran celebrities that gives the conversation a different kind of weight.
In the latest season, we saw three seasoned actors grace the iconic couch with their presence and it was nothing short of a treat to our eyes and ears.
Sharmila Tagore, Zeenat Aman and Neetu Singh were a delight to watch as the actors were real and raw with their experiences. As an audience, we couldn’t help but fall in love with them even more.
Sharmila Tagore, who came on the show with her actor-son Saif, revealed how her iconic role in An Evening In Paris became a controversial matter across the nation back in the day because she wore a bikini in a shot. She also talked about how she navigated through her son’s married life and the sudden death of her husband.
Zeenat Aman, who was known for her bold choice of movies and fashion in the 70s, talked about her crushes and how she entered the social media game because her family motivated her to. She had a lot to bring to the table with her wonderful personality.
Neetu Kapoor, the current media-favorite personality, shared how she started working at an early age and left everything for her new family – which is something she really wanted to do with all her heart. She also mimicked her co-guest, Zeenat Aman, hilariously.
While there have been some veteran entertainers on the couch like Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor in the past, these women from the latest season were a breath of fresh air that we absolutely loved as the audience.
These actors were extremely honest, candid and well, hilarious on the couch. We can’t wait to witness more veterans, even the ones who don’t make headlines anymore, to come and grace the couch. That would be fun.
Please note that all the images are taken from the show.
