Varun Dhawan Reveals The Real Reason Behind His Low-Key Wedding & It Makes A Lot Of Sense
Earlier in January, Varun Dhawan and Natasha Dalal gave us the first celeb wedding of the year by tying the knot in a hush-hush ceremony. While the wedding wasn’t really a shocker given that the two happened to be high school sweethearts, it was indeed pleasantly surprising to see a Bollywood star opting for such a scaled-down ceremony. Well, the actor has finally opened up about the decision now and it actually makes a lot of sense.
Varun spoke about his intimate wedding in a recent interview and shared the reason behind the call. “We had to be responsible during this period and follow rules. I’m someone who didn’t want to do something big, you’ve to respect whatever things have been put in place. I had elderly citizens from my family coming, and I wanted everyone to be safe, that’s why it was low-key,” he explained.
Varun had lost his masi to COVID-19 in 2020 and as someone who had suffered from the infection, he didn’t want anyone else to go through this ordeal. However, the actor did accept that he actually likes to keep things lowkey and didn’t anyway want to overwhelm Natasha by creating a huge deal and media frenzy out of it. He added “That’s the kind of person I am, as far as my personal life is concerned. I’d rather keep it low-key, and also because Natasha isn’t from this film line anyway. The full show-sha is too much, and this wasn’t the time for that. We’ll need to come back on our feet as a country. We need schools and other things to start opening, and then I think everything can follow that.”
In the interview, he also talked about life post-wedding and said “It’s fine, and it’s exactly the same. I’m not having any issues right now because I’ve too much time like most people do.” Guess, that’s one of the perks of marrying your high school sweetheart. Well, here’s hoping that things always remain the same for these two!
