I have seen the last episode, the series finale, of Game of Thrones and I can successfully say, on behalf of all my fellow GoT lovers, that I wasted almost a decade of my life on this TV show only to see Bran Stark become the King, Daenerys Targaryen dead and Jon Snow back to the Night’s Watch (wonder what they need that for now). Oh, wait, spoiler alert!

You must be thinking about how he is going to rule the kingdoms since he can’t bear children. The makers of the show have a solution to that too – democracy. Groundbreaking! Come to think if it, it all worked out well. After Drogon burns the throne to the ground (BTW, I totally called it) in anger of his mother dying over the damned game of thrones, there is no iron throne to sit and rule on anymore. But Bran comes with a throne of his own. Hallelujah!

Tyrion Lannister is Hand of the King upon Bran’s request. Sansa Stark conveniently becomes the Queen in the North (and not Warden of the North), thus separating Winterfell from the seven kingdoms to be an independent country. So, yeah, there are six kingdoms now and Bran, The Broken is their king. As for Arya Stark, she sets out on an adventure to explore “What is West of Westeros?”

After infinite fan theories and eight prime years of my life down the drain, my watch has ended. Season 8 of GoT has been so disappointing that fans have started an online petition to re-make it with more competent makers than David Benioff and Daniel Brett Weiss. More than three lakh people have signed it. To this, the makers reverted saying that the quality of fans has declined over the past few seasons.

Game of Thrones is based on a novel series by George R. R. Martin, A Song of Ice and Fire. Well, the first six seasons of GoT anyway. Martin is still to write two more books in the series.

After the series finale, HBO is currently gearing up for a Game of Thrones prequel series tentatively titled The Bloodmoon. It is said to be based period thousands of years ago and that’s the extent of information shared by the producers so far.
